Wow, here in corn country Indiana, I've yet to see corn tasseling. With all the cold early and all the rain we've had, planting season started later than normal. Typically, lots of fields are shooting tassels by the 4th of July. Wheat crop is running behind too. Most fields have turned, but heads are drooping. Wheat harvest is generally on or close to the 4th.

I was surprised Sunday to find our early (short season, 63d) was starting to tassel. It was only about waist high. It's since grown to 1/2 way between waist and shoulder height. The 78d corn is a bit taller but no shoots yet.
