Friday again folks.

Trying to get the lawn mowed around the rain before the heat wave hits us with 90+° temps and 100-105° heat index's the next few days.

What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Today is prep in the yard ahead of the heat wave, tomorrow is a graduation party for our college graduate granddaughter. Other than that it's indoors for a while. I am working on a small CD storage rack for Marie, may get that finished.

Love that edge detail!

Need to spray paint the deck furniture. Wind is supposed to die down tomorrow so maybe I can get it done. Woodcraft demo next Saturday to get ready for.

Has anyone fixed a crack in a fiber glass shower stall? Another one of those "friend emergencies". Patched a small one once before, there, but this one is longer. Looking for a patch kit with a fiberglass cloth to embed into the paste. Sand should be outlawed as a support system under shower/tub installs.

More sticks to harvest, followed by mowing then mowing. Round 2 of 12U baseball tourney tonight, weather permitting. Men's Breakfast tomorrow, followed by errands, then mowing. Church, Sunday, followed by lunch then ice cream (sherbert), then either a nap or mowing. Any other free time will likely be spent mowing.

Unfortunately yes; as recent as Memorial Day Weekend.

Kits are available but I made my own. No doubt kits are less wasteful in left over product but time was of essence. Everything was purchased locally from Home Depot. I watched a few Utubes but found the below two the most helpful. Let me know how else I can help. Not an expert by any means but so far the repair is holding well.

(1) Loctite Expanding Foam (buy extra VOE) HERE

(2) Fiberglass Resin. HERE

(3) Fiberglass Mat HERE

(4) Bondo Filler with fiberglass strands HERE

(5) Bondo Filler for Finish coat HERE

(6) Rustoleum paint (I was lucky to get close match to original almond)

CAUTION:  Ensure you have adequate ventilation; wear a respirator or at least an N95 mask.

This one has a web address for supplies and a kit.

Likely. Mow for a couple days, watch it rain for 3 or 4 days, rinse and repeat.

Edit add: today's rain starts in 14 minutes. It was supposed to be a non-rain, mowing day.:BangingHead:

Thanks, Dave, I'll check out the videos. The previous defect was small enough that I didn't need the foam or fiberglass matt

I didn't use much of the mat. Cut out a piece then separated into thin layers.

I forgot to add, Acetone. It's needed to clean between all steps. Dries quickly.

"Helping" a friend host his Studebaker club's yearly rally tomorrow. Mostly taking pictures of the gang at various local attractions (An old, but still working sawmill, the spot where Generous Motors began as a carriage shop, our local (VERY local) airport, and possibly a few other places.) Pictures to follow. Lynn has been helping to prepare the lunch ( to be served after the trip ) for two or three days now, so there's that to look forward to!

:ChinScratch: Don't know whether to  or :( kind of same here.

That or trying to keep the equipment going. Fix one and one of the other deicides "Hey, my turn". <_<

Walk behind got a new (used) recoil because the rope wouldn't go back in.

String trimmer/mower got a new height bumper, new spindle bearings, and belt.

Need to get new control rod arms for the JD zero turn, have the rods jury rig wired so they stay in place for now.

Rain managed to mostly stay away so I could get Bruces north field mowed. Sun also held off long enough so not to "Bake" me.

Next three days under an "Excessive Heat Warning" from noon tomorrow through 7:00 PM Monday.

Guess I'll go out and mow the south side after they close at 6:00.

Back to ranch this morning .  Not intending to do much, but got carried away. Moved a little dirt to fill ruts, mowed a little and then picked up lumber scraps to go in burn pit. Also there will be some of that to save for future use. Tomorrow is woodturners meeting, church on Sunday and hopefully starting on shop Monday.

Went to an estate sale this afternoon and got a non functioning blower Troy Built for 10. So far the priming bulb is DOA not sure of anything else.

This weekend just working on a walking stick for a friend of my daughter. The friend of my daughter found the piece of wood last weekend when we were camping.

:ChinScratch: It appears that the girls are happy with their new old computers.

They said other than the slight learning curve associated with moving from W10 to Zorin OS the machine "Is much faster than it used to be".

They asked when I can do machine #2.

If the primer bulb is DOA, I'm betting the fuel lines are history as well.

BTW, nice score my Southern Bandit.;)

Fun night last night. Boys won Rd 2 of 12U county wide baseball playoffs. Defeated the #2 seed 4-3 in the full six innings.

Even better #1 seed was upset by #4 seed, 5-3 in the full 6 innings. First loss all season by the #1 seed. They beat "us" 2x by one run each game. We're the #3 seed.

Championship game is Monday night. Board of directors will decide this weekend if they'll move the start time later in the evening due to the heat. If so, it will be on our home field. We're the only one to have lights. Kids are pumped.

On another not so fun note, after the men's breakfast, I had to make an in-store visit to Walmart. Could have made a movie titled "Day of the Walking Dead". Decided Walmart ain't the place to be, so I packed up the Buick and moved back to the countree; fresh air, and no Zombees...
