Popular Post Larry Buskirk Posted June 6 Popular Post Report Posted June 6 Friday again folks. Been kind of a rough week here, still waiting for the smoke from Canada's wildfires to clear. Yesterday it was thick enough to look like photos of L.A. smog. Hard to believe those fires are about 1000 miles from here. So, as we deal with another "Air Quality Alert" day, What's on Your Weekend Agenda? HandyDan, Grandpadave52, lew and 4 others 1 1 3 2 Quote
Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr Posted June 6 Popular Post Report Posted June 6 If I'm inside due to weather I'll try to finish my quarter frames, if not I'll be in the yard. Larry Buskirk, lew, Gerald and 5 others 8 Quote
Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted June 6 Popular Post Report Posted June 6 (edited) Socked in by heavy fog for the second consecutive day so little chance to mow today coupled with the chances for rain again later. I'll continue with mower and equipment maintenance and some other garage projects. Garden needs some weed abatement but far too wet after the rains. Sunday, church followed by a Father's Day lunch hosted by the ladies. Today however I'll be busy celebrating the long awaited and perhaps the most significant day in the U.S. for today is... NATIONAL DAY I'll be selecting from this collection a celebratory token to honor the day. Donut forget to enjoy the day. Popular Post kmealy Posted June 6 Popular Post Report Posted June 6 (edited) IT'S SHOWTIME!! After 12 weekends, a few evening builds, and a hectic week on site (until 10:30 most every night), the set is (almost) ready for tonight's opening. Act 1 unit set (home). The few remaining "wallpaper" walls were being worked on in the back. 14' high walls, about 50 lineal feet of them. numerous doors and lots of stairs, including some behind the set for access. Attic scene, another door and one hidden door that comes out of the wall Front door, opening of act 2 Rooftop scene. The pieces fit together better than that, but stage crew must not have lined them up Front door, opening of act 2 Unit set, act 2, "Beetlejuice" walls Transition to the afterlife Sandworm. I am never going to complain about the day I spent making chariot wheels for a prior performance. One guy spent 10+ Saturdays making the head and it was on stage for all of about 12 seconds Not shown is the opening scene in act 1, the graveyard, with four mausoleums and a casket ready to be lowered into a grave. first show Friday at 6pm. I'm exhausted. Edited June 6 by kmealy Larry Buskirk, Grandpadave52, DuckSoup and 7 others 6 4 Quote

Popular Post Bubba Posted June 6 Popular Post Report Posted June 6 Only thing I have planned for the weekend is complete the fence between my house and the next door neighbor, weather permitting. This week my granddaughter and I made this little project. Dolphin is the mascot for her grade school. I drew and cut out the dolphin. Granddaughter painted the dolphin, she designed the waves and I cut them out on the scroll saw. I built the base, mounted the waves and spray painted them blue then my granddaughter painted the wave details herself. Not bad for a 10 year old. HARO50, DuckSoup, Gerald and 7 others 4 6 Quote
Popular Post Gerald Posted June 7 Popular Post Report Posted June 7 Today made it 55 years with the old gal. Seems like yesterday. Have been working on log pile at Ranch all week and was going to take the day off but with the way I am I went down to check on concrete but pour is tomorrow. While waiting on contractor "just had" to get on tractor and pull more logs out of pile. This morning was estate sale trip but nothing I want to move so no sale. Meeting with Concrete man for shop and then load truck up with product and tools for this weekends Pickle Fest at the AG. Decided I will start a new topic on shop and house build so I can satisfy everyone picture curiosity. Bubba, steven newman, lew and 7 others 8 2 Quote

Popular Post JWD Posted June 8 Popular Post Report Posted June 8 Why am I always weighing in on Sunday when I'm mostly done with the weekend? I guess I don't know what I'm going to do until it's done. Lesseee.... busy weekend for me. Got the horrible old truck (1987 Toyota 4wd) ready to give to a buddy from work. Sick of looking at it, and he might actually do something with it. Lets just say it has had a hard life, needs a lot of attention. Had to put in a temporary battery out of another vehicle, get some slack on the cables because the one I used has the terminals inverted from the Toyota (???? never seen that before), kludge together a drivers door latch fix, and remove the pedestal lift in the back that I used to use to hoist machines on and off my bigger truck, now long gone (the original Horrible Old Truck, the Toyota was at the time the Horrible Newer Truck). The Toyota never really was up to that task, bed waaaaaay too flexible! Then rewiring the green bandsaw.... wait a sec, they are both green. Ok the dark green metallic bandsaw. Sure wish I could find that paint, it's purty. Going to finish that up today, and then do some much needed house cleaning before it gets hot. Trying to hold off turning on the air until late June when I get back from Boston. House stays pretty cool throughout the day, but that gets me spoiled too and 75 feels hot and stuffy. Fred W.
