Wiki Edit @Fred Wilson was busy last week editing our Glossary of Woodworking Joints for our wiki, thank you for the time and entries Fred! Anyone can edit our wiki, go ahead and give it a try, just follow the same format that is already in place regarding text and layout. Click on "Glossary Actions" then click "Edit". Please read the first paragraph of the Glossary page and follow the rules. This is a Glossary, it should be fact based, direct, opinion free, no advertising, no links, it should be a "dictionary" of sorts listing off joinery, and definitions of such joints. Feel free to correct spelling if you see any errors, and upload images to support the joinery descriptions already there. Thank you! Popular Post lew Posted January 13 Popular Post Report Posted January 13 Walked thru the shop a couple of times over the weekend- mostly laundry duty. No turning and really frustrated with a flatwork project I started. Years ago, my brother gave us a trivet, he made from a kit. Mimi really likes it because dishes/pots don't slid around on it. My brother-in-law is a wine drinker and saves his corks for me. Since I am overstocked with corks, I decided to make a couple of the trivets. Carefully measured the one from my brother. Cut the frame making absolutely certain I had the inside measurements correct. Glued it up, added a thin plywood bottom. Started laying out the corks. Who knew that there are different sizes of wine bottle corks?!?!?!?! Now I have frames that are too big for the layouts. Tried several different configurations but always the same results. About .25" gap at one end of all of the rows. My German heritage and OCD are driving me crazy! I know I can adjust the spacing to minimize the error but.... Popular Post Gerald Posted January 13 Popular Post Report Posted January 13 Managed to get out late yesterday and drilled tractor bucket for a set of hooks and D rings. Worked better than I thought but started holes with smaller bit and then enlarged with right size. Went they 4 bits and the last hole was tough. Then the top bolt location would not allow bolt in till it is cut down. going out in the country with a friend to put out some feed. Have a full week ahead . Set up for woodturners hands o. On Thursday, hands on Friday and club meeting Saturday. Larry Buskirk, HARO50, Grandpadave52 and 4 others 7 Quote

Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted January 13 Popular Post Report Posted January 13 Played in the snow Saturday for 3+ hours. Snowblower worked OK; me not so much at least yesterday. Winter could be fun if not for the snow, cold, wind and did I mention the snow? Roads were nasty to and from church yesterday; Chinese buffet afterwards was better; nap after that was even more gooder. Not much on the agenda this week. Watching an online auction that closes tomorrow evening, maybe a couple errands, maintaining bird feeders. I'd watch the snow melt but that 'ain't' likely until the weekend with temperatures ranging from zero to 20°. Donut have a doughnut in the house so donut think I'll be eating a doughnut either. Maybe I'll start a donut have a doughnut support group if I get a round2it without a center. Zack, HARO50, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 5 others 1 7 Quote

Popular Post StaticLV2 Posted January 14 Popular Post Report Posted January 14 Finally back to feeling like a human, or at least the rough approximation of such that I have carefully cobbled together over decades. I am needing to conduct a good shop cleanup effort and make a bunch of smalls to use up some offcuts and scrap. HARO50, lew, Larry Buskirk and 3 others 6 Quote
