@DeVere created a wonderful gallery for his musical instruments. And we have one image with some Christmas colors, whether intentionally done or not, the image conjured up Christmas in the forest thoughts for me anyway. For more of his work see his gallery at Devere.

This was a wonderful video and I had no idea these ever existed, the Appalachians are a crafty society of folks, self preservation and self reliance has been their tradition. They made due with what they had.

I did some long overdue house cleaning.... very dull and the dog hates the vacuum cleaner.  Stuck him out in the garage with the truck door open, he hopped in and took a nap.  Gotta remember that trick, maybe I'll vacuum more often! (really, I'm not lazy, it's cuz the dog hates it!)

Then got through a sanding step on a batch of product.  Going to finish the last step this morning and ship them off when I get back from a work trip mid-week.  I have a new ($$$) flap sander that seems to work far better than the import version I used to use.  Looking forward to putting it through it's paces this morning before I leave.

Also drove my new to me truck both days over the weekend, just down to the trail to walk the dog.  It's a 2022 Jeep Gladiator with the 3.0L diesel.  I really like it.  Not registered yet, but I did get insurance arranged Friday so I was ok with driving a couple miles locally.  First diesel I've owned that uses DEF, that stuff makes an amazing difference in the exhaust, nothing like my horrible old truck (1987 Chevy 6.2L).

Had a great sales Saturday. The best I have had in that venue. ER trip for the wife was about as usual. Finally a doctor told her what I have been trying to get thru. Slightly dehydrated in addition to the kidney stone. Still about the same as to symptoms.

I am at the sleep clinic now. Gotta go down to the ranch to sell a brush hog. Then home. Two more sales day events this week and then done for the year. Gotta clean up the messy shop.

Decorating ended here on Sunday; Monday & Tuesday she got all her eggs in a row to start baking today. I played on my scroll saw Mon,Tue and now staying clear of the baker.

Just got the dual-boot PC back running.

Motherboard died last week and of course when I replaced it with a different model, I didn't have the right TPM (Trusted Protocol Module)

Glad you got it running again. I see the TPM modules are at least more reasonable in price than during the pandemic and Taiwan chip factory fire. I think I paid about $80 for the one I got.

Been really frustrated with the 24H2 upgrade. Finally said my PC was ready but the install failed with a not supported driver code. Now I can't get the update to download. Don't want to do a clean install. All drivers have been updated and some of the suspected "old" software uninstalled but still no luck. Have one more software app to uninstall and try again, If that doesn't work, I guess I'll wait it out. 23H2 works and is getting all the upgrades.

Don't know why but the 12 pin TPM is almost twice the price of the 14 pin for the MSI boards.

Went to fire up the dual-boot machine last week and it wouldn't go had a CPU not detected or failed LED lit.

Couldn't even get into the BIOS using the Flash BIOS button.

Replaced the B450M Mortar MAX with a B550-A PRO motherboard. I just swapped everything from one motherboard to the other.

Both W11 machines are running the 24H2 upgrade. Didn't have to reload either of the W11, or Zorin 17.2 OS's. Just had to update the drivers.

Not sure if this might have something to do with your problem but I seem to remember seeing something about the Intel systems not working well with the latest chipset drivers with the 24H2 upgrade.

I have a feeling you are right about this. I've always used Intel chip sets. I switched from MSI mobos to Gigabyte when the bad caps were showing up. Maybe that was a mistake. Probably just wait out the 24H2 update. Could do an in-place upgrade but maybe do a rebuild. This one has bones dating back at least 6 years.

I switched from using ASUS motherboards back when they had the VRM problems back around the beginning of the Vista OS days.

Both of the W11 OSs did the 24H2 upgrade through Windows Updates when MS got around to it.

The board that failed was the one the cat did his thing on, so I can't really say if it was the motherboards' fault or not.

I had an old flatbed scanner (low end Xerox) connected but uninstalled/deleted but no luck. Maybe the setting were stuck in the MS database. I'll give it another try. Thanks for the update.
