Saturdays outing kicked my butt. Stood in line almost 1-1/2 hours for early voting. Enjoyed the drive afterwards viewing the foliage and stopping at a local, family orchard for some late season apples. Peak color weekend; got to spend a little time with oldest granddaughter. Youngest granddaughter was just up the road from @Fred W. Hargis Jr at a swim meet at Lima YMCA hosted by Bluffton College. Decent day for her; a 1st, and (2) 4th place finishes. Daughter came over Sunday afternoon to visit for a couple hours, pick up some potting soil and raid the garden. We picked lots of tomatoes, dug some carrots and harvested some purple cabbage. Mrs. and I enjoyed sitting in the sun for about an hour.

Busy week ahead. Neurologist appointment tomorrow. Urologist appointment Thursday. NOTE to self: Important not to get those two mixed up. Aside from that, watch the leaves change color, then fall to the ground. Hoping I can put together a compelling case to persuade the Mrs. to stop at the donut shop after doctors appointments. If not, resort to Plan B; whine and look pitful; If that doesnt work, implement Plan C; throw a tantrum.

I'm laughing, Dave, but that doesn't mean I won't keep you in my thoughts and wish for a speedy and complete recovery.

As for me, I'll probably try to complete winter yard prep this week. Yesterday I got out the smoker and cooked a pork butt...the last for this season. I  Had wanted do a brisket but they are so expensive any more I settled for the pork. So today I have to clean up the smoker and out it away for the winter. Shop wise, I'm considering a making a wedgie sled (used to cut segments for a segmented bowl for non-turners). I also have a couple of end tables I finished in shellac (not the proper finish for this application) I need to renew the table tops and I'll probably top coat them with a varnish.

A cool day today. High temperature is 47 degrees with a light wind from the NW at 6 mph. RH is at 35%. I can't believe how the leaves have piled up. Maples are about cleared and the oaks have started piling their big leaves on top.

i should get off my butt and wander down to the shop and at a minimum clean it up a bit.  if really motivated, start building a cherry desk for a friend.

but i'm just tired.  don't sleep well, drag all day.  some days a nap is really nice.  and now my tooth hurts.  sigh.

Customer states:

Car would not start. Attempted to jump start and cables caught on fire.  No other comments.

And the alternator still works let alone the battery didn't blow.:BugEyeSmiley: It'll take 2 rolls of duct tape to fix that kinda stupid.

Anniversary day with the love of my life! Ribeye and sirloins off the grill. Baked taters and green beans. Copious amounts of butter and sour cream. Life is indeed wonderful.
