September 13, 20241 yr Popular Post After a rough week of dealing with the "Creepy Crud" that began on Sunday, ... What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
September 13, 20241 yr Popular Post Finished my grandson's coffee table and hope to wrap up a little drink stand (my name for it) for him. Anything else is TBD. I really need to get some spots in the yard repaired but will have to wait for some wet weather. Also need to sight in a few rifles that had some work done on them over them summer, then if I get a chance I may be screwing around on the lathe some more.
September 13, 20241 yr Might do a bit of Joinery Work....once the Beads are all milled... Mitered Half Laps, with hand tools...

September 13, 20241 yr Popular Post Last build day for the theater set Saturday, move in Sunday, finish up (a lot of stuff) and re-assemble evenings thru Wednesday. A busy week coming up
September 13, 20241 yr Popular Post Learned I'll be unsupervised many hours over the weekend so activities are mostly undefined. Church services and responsibilities Sunday. In the meantime, still in L&G service and recondition mode. Trying to find a new idler pulley I last had in my hands a couple of weeks ago. Already looked in the last (logical) place I would have put it as well as the same numerous places 5 or 6 times. If I set it down at one of your places, I'd appreciate you letting me know. I've given up finding it here. PSA: Good news (if you have one nearby) on this Friday the 13th, buy one dozen regular Krispy Kreme donuts, get a second dozen for a paltry 13 cents. You're welcome.

On the positive side I did find my 1.5 qt hand sprayer I've been looking for since early spring. Mrs likes the new one better since it's 1/2 g. Oh, and I also found the 1/4" drive, 1/4" shallow well socket I lost a year ago. I'd already replaced it too. The found socket was stuck to the magnetic base of a flashlight I used to hunt for the socket last year. Plan today is to recheck all the places I searched yesterday since I don't know where else to look.

Did you set it on top of the old one to check the size?

No, you can only get to it from underneath and that's after taking off other stuff. Good thing I decided to dig it out yesterday before I removed the old one even though I knew exactly where I put the new one or at least 2 weeks ago I did.

September 13, 20241 yr Popular Post Took Q'bert the RV out to Lake Sommerville State Park this afternoon. Will be so encamped until Sunday. While at the park, will do a little fishing, and participate in W5AUM's monthly POTA gathering. POTA is an international project that involves "Activating" a park with a radio. There are activators and hunters. The hunter's talk to the activators and both parties record the QSO on the POTA website to receive credit. Mom didn't raise any foolish children. Your's truly will be inside the RV running the AC @72 during the event due to the predicted 96 degree weather. .40
September 13, 20241 yr Popular Post spent some time at the range today, first helping put up a new shade structure (think metal carport thing), first of 2, do the other another day; then helped set up the range for this weekend's Glock match, ran a few shooters thru one stage, called it a day. will return tomorrow morning for more RO (range officer) duty. beep, count holes, repeat. unskilled work, but you need to keep everyone safe.

Even put them all away or at least back in the tote I've worked out of for a couple years. Gave up for today; moved on to another project. Ironically, I did see a squirrel sitting at the base of one our trees today. We haven't had any live squirrels for at least a couple years.
September 14, 20241 yr Popular Post Doing a shakedown on my Rhino side-by-side to make sure it is ready for the upcoming deer season (it will be my last). Run my boat motor for a bit. It has been a while since I had it in the lake. And built a storage rack for my allenwrenches I was keeping in a coffee can. Edited September 14, 20241 yr by Bubba Resized pictures
September 14, 20241 yr Popular Post Finished the computer desk remodel, yesterday. Today, 9/14, is Phyl's birthday. Her 76th. Sons and families are coming over and bringing cake and other goodies. As soon as it's daylight, I'll be poisoning and filling gopher holes. Maybe get in some shop time before the partying begins.
September 14, 20241 yr Bubba, I had to quit deer hunting back in 2010 and still remember how much I missed it then (and now). Sad day. Happy birthday to Phyl! Hope you'all have a nice party and it's not too hot for the celebration!
