July 19, 20242 yr Author comment_339136 I'm wondering if I'm missing something with the CBN wheels. I got the wheels that fit with my 8 inch grinder. How ever I threw one of the wheels on and it just seems to slide on the bar. Not exactly sure why its doing that but I have a feeling that I'm missing something on that. Report
July 19, 20242 yr Author comment_339137 Welp the CBN Wheels for now are going back to the store RIP Bench Grinder I'll have to make a run over to harbor freight and get a down and dirty one for now until I can afford a decent 8 inch grinder. Shame the wen used to work welp I don't think it liked sitting out side too long un used for too many winter seaasons. Oh well. Report
July 19, 20242 yr Author comment_339139 Well Sadly The Wen went Kaput. Thankfully Harbor Freight is around LOL. Took Ten minutes to drive down there. Walk out with a pretty decent score of a grinder. The beauty of this grinder to use the sharpening system I don't even have to adjust the height of the grinder did a test fit and they both fit right up underneath the wheels. So for now until I figure out the CBNS the CBNS are just going to go back and I'm going to stick with the stone wheels for now. Dusty but oh well I'll live with it. At least now I have a fully working grinder. Will be working on locking it down in place tomorrow. Yep I snagged the pictures while it was resting on a bolt OOOPS. So I may have to re check the measurements. Report

The wheels should have come with a sizing sleeve insert that will make the proper fit. Check with Woodturners Wonders to see if they have what you need. https://woodturnerswonders.com/collections/grinding-wheel-accessories/products/cbn-wheel-reducer-bushing Report

July 20, 20242 yr Author Popular Post comment_339204 SO I've finally got my grinding station set up. Yea looks a bit precarious being on the corner but I think with all the reach outs and stuff that pretty much have to do with a grinder and gouges I should be fine. Pretty much the only place on the bench that it would fit. Forgive the messy bench I still gotta finish locking the grinder down in place; and yea. Also got the raptor set up stuff which will be helpful I got the gouge stop blocks comin in tomorrow. So yea Id say by tomorrow Id be fully set up ready to start sharpening. Report
July 21, 20242 yr Author comment_339232 I did not realize how big these gouges were Holy smokes Report

I also caught Kent "Turn A Wood Bowl" on his sharpening still tryin to figure out how he did that 55 degree swept back. Seems like a decent profile. If you don't mind spending $90 or so, I highly recommend his Tool Sharpening course. He shows how to make that 55 degree swept back grind and several others (40/40, bottom feeder, etc.). Report
