Of the 350 replies, over half recommend more sanding, belt sander, 40-60 grit, hand plane. Sure recipe for blowing thru the veneer. How do I know it's veneer? Look at the edge banding. Solid wood top would never look like that. Look at the grain pattern, it's not edge glued planks. Geez oh pete.
