Did you check for any bent pins on both ends of the cable that connects to the laser module?

I don't know if this is universally true for all CNC controlled machines, but my CNC has to be turned on in a certain order or the spindle will start without being told to.  PC first.  Control software running second.  Then the control box for the CNC.  Then activate the CNC within the control software.  The PC and control software have to be in charge of the control box as it is turned on.  If I turn on the controller box first then the spindle comes on.

Looking forward to seeing what you are going to do with it.

I've burned a couple different test patterns. A few more tests to run. I'm finding out that there's a lot of rigamarole to work through.

I'm sure you read this but, when burning those test patterns- don't walk away from the machine, and have a fire extinguisher nearby.

All part of the learning curve. Once it clicks you will enjoy it!

Ditto that advice.  My college laser room was set afire twice when students left their cut jobs to finish while they did other things.

Kidde on order. Had one up in the mountains when using a smaller laser. It some how didn't make it in the move. Thanks for the reminder. Plus, I never leave the area when the laser is running.
