February 21, 20242 yr Popular Post I did have a productive weekend. Fallen branches and limbs , grapes which were pruned earlier with a large pile of "stuff" from that job and also cut down the lantana which got burned. Finished that job by tossing in some potatoes, an hour in the coals and they came out just right! That was one complete day and with all the walking around picking up limbs and sticks really wore me out. One morning was pretty cold for here at this time of the year. Completed and submitted our taxes. This may be the earliest I've ever done them, but it does feel good having that task behind me. In the shop I got started on pantry shelving. A large stack of parts one day, glued up edging and chamfered edges the next. Yesterday I spent most of the day sanding and started applying a lacquer finish, and plan to complete this today. We might get to take 'em up north this weekend, TBD. I've a couple yard projects and a new workbench to do before getting on our daughter's next wish, whatever that might be. I'm thinking it's going to be a bed, but that may change before now and whenever I start it.

February 22, 20242 yr Do an experiment. Stain two scraps. Let dry overnight. Glue them. Check bond the next day.
