Good Monday morning!

Good Monday morning Patriot Woodworkers! What did you get done over the weekend, and what have you planned for the week ahead! Inquiring minds want to know. Please tell us what's happening in your shops, your life, and any events going on with you. Thank you for being here folks!

MWTCA What's It

As promised last week, our MWTCA "What's It" has returned from a four month vacation. Please see the topics at the following pages, and give it your best shot, just what the heck are these items!

House Cleaning

For images in our Gallery, please ensure per the community suggested guidelines in each gallery to name your images appropriately. Please avoid keeping the default image file name such as DSC5974kl.jpg or such names like it.

If you click on each gallery category you'll see our suggested method for uploading images, I'd like to see it become law, there are many reasons why an actual title to the image is beneficial to our community.

Image Uploading Suggestions

We appreciate your help in keeping our image gallery orderly and easy for others to research.

Please consider these suggestions while uploading your images.

  • Name your images before uploading to our gallery, the generic camera file names just look so messy. "Walnut Desk" looks so much better than "DSC19467je69.jpg". You can also name your images after you upload them to our gallery for your convenience.
  • After uploading your images, please consider adding a description so your viewers know what they are seeing and the wood used, the tools used, or even your inspiration for building the project.
  • Please consider tagging your images so our members and guests will be able to successfully search for your image and related images. Tags can be inserted into the "Tags" field. An example of tags and their names should be related to your project. If your project images are of a Walnut Desk with dovetail joinery, than tag the image with "Walnut", "Desk", "Dovetail" etc.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Typical weekend except grandsons being here for two nights. They're pretty low maintenance except for feeding time. Boy can those two boys eat.

Some domestic duties this week and lots of road trips. PU youngest grandson today from music practice after school. Youngest granddaughter has 21st birthday tomorrow. Not sure how that happened. Three evenings this week I'll be at church for various meetings/ events. Other two evenings, oldest grandson has wrestling meets. Haircut and a few errands Wed AM in Boilertown. May attempt some yard work during down times.

Off to the hospital to get Marie another MRI, this time her hip. On the plus side, much of her back pain has been relieved, then she developed a new one in here groin...so this trip is needed. Looks like a nice week until Thursday, I had a couple of rifles worked on (had the triggers replaced) maybe I'll get a chance to take them to the range for a little shooting.

One of the pitfalls of being the new guy at the local turners club, got some blanks/materials prepped for a demo at the next meeting. Still agonizing over the rolling pin workshop.  Need to get back to finishing more of @Gerald's Friendship Bowls.

Just wondering about the "Featured image". How did that guy in the middle of the back row get in without a tie???? :WonderScratch:

Aside from that, will be working on an upgrade to my router table so I can get back to the cutting boards.

Monday

:ChinScratch: Think I'll pass. <_<

years ago i bought a thin rip jig, pretty useful item for making thin stock and not having the work get trapped between the blade and the fence.

then i got a new rip fence from Incra, which has positive locks every 1/32", and you can adjust the settings with a dial wheel to as fine as 0.001 (half turn is a 1/64" increment). and then i discovered that my thin rip jig was no longer useful, as the stock would be different, random widths, and not always a multiple of 1/32".  so it sits getting dusty.

attempt #2 to fix this chair.  couldn't get the first patch to color match well enough, so out with the oak, in with the teak or mahogany. some red mahogany stain got it very close.  will trim down to match the profile another day.

Went to PT this AM and then to Dr in afternoon. Diagnosis aspiration pneumonia . Now I am out of it , worn out for the day.

Learned something new at PT. I have a bruise on my thigh almost the full length up from the knee and it is a dark purple. She taped it with sports tape with all those little fingers. What this does is like lifting the skin to allow blood to flow and heal faster.

Thanks for thew prayers folks. Cough has subsided and feeling a bit more animated today. I even took a short tour of the shop while the wife was out. Started on home PT also and yes it is going to be a journey. I am finding so many project ideas I will need to start a notebook, well maybe put list on phone.
