Haven't posted about my growing radio hobby in a while.  Here it is for those that might be interested.

Added a linear amplifier to my rig.  Required running a 240v plug into my office.

Forty I don't understand most of your technical terms, but do know enough if your pushing over 500watts, you got a pretty powerful rig there. Been a looong time from my old CB days.

That said, my little simple mind gravitated toward your "retro" lighted call-sign on air display. That is SO VERY COOL! Love it!

Displaying the operator's call sign at the radio station is a federal regulation.  The lighted sign is just more fun than a piece of paper. :)

Yes indeed. Sometimes the discovery under the rust is exciting.

That said, far more enjoyable than raising hogs though...doesn't stink nearly as bad either.

Back in the fall I did an EWT "meet and greet" at the local turning club. I'm not a "club" person but decided to join as I knew a couple of the members in a past life. Seems now I'm scheduled for some demonstrations. Have to figure out what I can turn start to finish in a little over an hour. They also want to see how I make my Celtic knot rolling pins.

sound like a great opportunity to demonstrate gluing up your pins and turning them. Having a few prepped in various stages should allow you to fill out part of the hour.

We're the proud owners of one of Lew's French rolling pins. It has a place of honor on the kitchen wall.

For the past few days I've been using up some 1/2" BB to build a free standing 30X12X12 drawer unit for the shop.

We're also doing some light remodeling of both bathrooms.  The master bath will get some heavy-duty work when my BIL gets here. He's a plumber and HVAC guy. We've got a garden tub in the master bath to remove.  Then lay ceramic tile and R and R a two sink vanity. Gonna be a busy few days of his visit.

It does but, rarely.  Phyl, bless her soul,  simply cannot make pie crusts. So she just buys them ready made.

I spent the afternoon building a tote for the fasteners I use to make my boxes so I can shuttle everything between the basement shop and the barn shop.P2031192.JPG.f9faabc81625868aeeeb75f93a876e77.JPGP2031193.JPG.1aa08d6fec4dbf0fb652bd679bad377e.JPG
