January 12, 20242 yr If there is no center marking device that works, but the screw holes are in a uniform grid, some careful layout/measuring/marking on the wall would be my approach. Don't drill any holes until all are marked (with pencil that can be erased) and checked through the plate itself. I don't know how thick the plate is, or what material it is. If you can find a drill bit that fits snugly through the holes, it can be used to mark the center behind the plate. Give it a finger spin to have the drill bit dig a shallow center divot.
January 22, 20242 yr Mcfeelys has what i think you are looking for. They have a countersink for this screw. They call it a cabinet makers assembly screw. Countersink is quite a bit bigger than normal screws
