Popular Post John Morris Posted December 19, 2023 Author Popular Post Report Posted December 19, 2023 It's been a nice easy going Christmas Season for us. We made a complete effort that turned out to be effortless as it was easy to do, to not get caught up in the modern idealism of Christmas, we've dedicated our mind body and spirit to the Season of Advent, and it's been the most enjoyable and meaningful Christmas we have ever had, I only wish we made this effort early in our lives. Our faith and knowledge has grown by leaps and bounds the past few weeks, actually we've been on a deep faith journey the last two years that came about in miraculous ways, as it usually does for many. We finally got our Christmas tree up on Sunday as we were moved to do, and we are just now decorating it, or at least our kids are decorating it, our youngest Army girl drove into town for two weeks to stay with us, she has a new Bo who is a nice young man, and between those two, and our son who still lives with us, they are hanging ornaments and should be done today. Our oldest girl and our son n law will be over Christmas morning and we'll have a full family for a few hours, mama and I are very happy about that. We barely have any Christmas presents for anyone, it just is what it is. I have next week off, so looking forward to that Hope ya'll have a wonderful week ahead! Dan gifted Patti & my daughters a mouse ornament for their tree, I'm sure they will love it. Always good to share some time with you Dan. The baking is done and now we wait for Saturday to start prepping for Christmas eve dinner. Yes it was a great time. High light of my day. Bob and Patti gifted me a bag of her famous cookies and one of Bob's sled ornaments too. They taste as good as they look. Thanks Bob and Patti. Popular Post Gene Howe Posted December 19, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted December 19, 2023 Phyl has been baking cookies, making candies and boxing them to give to neighbors and our family. She'll get the Howe Christmas tradition prime rib later today. She has to order the Lobster when she picks up the roast. We have a pair of house cleaners coming today for their e/o week cleaning. The last one before Christmas. They've been with us since we moved here 4 years ago. She has made quilts for both ladies plus boxes of candies and cookies. My contribution was to be personalized ornaments but alas, it's not to be since the scroll saw broke 2 weeks ago. Our tree has been up for a couple weeks and it's laden with decos and gifts. The dining table has been lengthened to accommodate the 9 of us for THE MEAL. I THINK we're all set....hopefully. steven newman, Larry Buskirk, Grandpadave52 and 4 others 6 1 Quote

Popular Post DAB Posted December 19, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted December 19, 2023 tragic: went down to the shop, and the mess cried out "put us away, we are messy, and taking up valuable work table space", so, with great love and care, and much compassion, everything got put back in their respective homes, to await their next call to duty. everyone is happy, except those destined for the trash cans, they are very sad, as they know their time in the shop is short. don't let 10 cents of lumber take up a dollar's worth of space. Popular Post Gunny Posted December 20, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted December 20, 2023 Sat at lunch today with two friends. Minding our own business with small talk about our kids. Next to us is a couple doing the same. But somehow this snowflake decided he was going to educate us on proper us of pronouns when discussing kids. Didn't take it too well when we ignored him and continued. So Mr I am Going to Bully you comes over to tower over us and DEMAND we repeat after him certain pronouns. We are all thinking what is this, 1st grade? NOPE, kept repeating himself, and of course the wife was happy he was doing "something". He calls for Mall Cops to come over. The officers were very professional. Talked with him off to the side, then came to ask us what is going on. My buddy starts off with, "Well he asked me to join him and his wife for intimate relations after lunch and I turned him down. That got everyone laughing. BUT bully boy decided violence was imminent and runs over with a chair in his hand raised over his head screaming we are about to get beaten. Officers move quick, tasers pulled and tell him to calm down. NOPE, bully boy goes after them like a banshee. GOT tased!! Was Epic! Crowd cheering and applause and all that. If we had been speaking with them, or included them in our conversation, I could understand butting in and explaining what they believe. But to come over and include themselves in a private conversation, what gives? Mind your own business. This victim mentality is beyond reason. Nor do they think things through? Let us just say that snowflake got past the two officers, that leaves him against 3 men of unknown backgrounds. So, in this case 3 US Marines, all with years of combat experience. And he brings a chair? How exactly was he going to explain to the doctor how a size 10 steel toe shoe got inserted into his rear? Grandpadave52, Gerald, Harry Brink and 7 others 3 2 1 4 Quote

Popular Post DAB Posted December 20, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted December 20, 2023 do you want to get shot? because that's a really good way to get shot, by attacking someone with something. for that matter, people have been killed by being hit with a bare fist, so including a 2x4, bat, chair, doesn't really change the math. leave me alone. Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted December 20, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted December 20, 2023 (edited) Daughter asked me to accompany her yesterday PM on a Christmas shopping trip mainly to pick out a tool for hubby, aka SIL. I drove; did research up front. First stop was Big Orange in Boilertown. VERY busy there. At the entrance was a sign, "Thirsty? Help Yourself to a Free Bottle of Water" placed by a large tub of bottled water. Nice touch. She made purchases, then off to Menards. Took care of my list there; mostly pet supplies, a few maintenance items but also some stocking stuffers...12% rebate on all purchases. Not all that busy. Next stop, Freddie's for a steak burger. Her choice. Then off to Rural King. Mainly for bird seed, but a few stocking stuffers and a couple Christmas surprises. Wasn't busy at all. Back on the road. Dropped her off at home, then back home finally ~9:30P. Still recovering today. On the way to pick up my daughter saw Santa's reindeer about 10 minutes from home.
