Friday December 8th 2023-Whats on Your Weekend Agenda?

 Not sure what day it is where you're at but it's Friday again here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" folks. ;)

:ChinScratch: Also not sure what Mother Nature has in store for your area this weekend but we're forecast to be in the mid to high 50's again today after setting a new record high yesterday and are forecast to do the same again today and tomorrow. :P So, while it's cooperating, I'll be trying to get some outside things done.

With that, What's on Your Weekend Agenda? :WonderScratch:

My online store is going bonkers so I’ll be in the shop building cheese slicers on Saturday.  No complaints though.

I'll be piddling in the shop this weekend, I'm back to practicing on the lathe...and i need a lot of it!

Scrolling Christmas ornaments, installing a new starter solenoid in the ole truck. We'll be watching our 5 year old granddaughter (can't really call it baby sitting any more) for an overnight tonight. Saturday our other grandkids, teenagers, and their parents will be here for dinner and maybe supper, too. So, no more shop time until Sunday. Then, back to ornaments. They all will have a name, with the year and a snow man or a snow flake. I am as slow cutting as molasses in January. Hope to get all 7 done in time to have them on their trees. Each one takes me close to an hour to cut. They will be on 1/8 BB. Gotta do two layers equalling 1/4" because I can't  control the cut using a #3 blade in 1/8 material. The bottom ornament is pretty much waste. I can only get one ornament from each blade. Lots of holes to be drilled for interior cuts. Another reason for two layers. The BB tends to splinter on the bottom side, no matter how carefully I drill.

Working on Christmas gifts in the shop.  Might sneak outside a little since we are to have somewhat sunny day near 60° today and tomorrow.

With a couple of warm December days, I'll clean the mess I made in the shop last month. I'm allowed to stay out till the streetlights come on:Cheer:.

Reminds me of a continually conversation between my mom and Ada each time they'd pass a cemetery.  Mom: Wonder how many dead people are buried there. Dad: let's hope they're all dead.

Somewhat busy weekend, granddaughters have one's first diving meet and the other a choir concert Saturday.   Running to Rockler Sat AM to pick up a gift for a grandson and stopping on the way home at the new Northern Tool store's opening gala.  Sunday is beekeeper's Xmas party in the afternoon and a concert in the evening.

Keith, have you decided whether you'll give up the bee hives? Seem like you mentioned you may pack them up somewhere in the past several months.

Yes, it was a tough year with my leg problems.  Now i have hip replacement and potentially a knee replacement sometime next year.   The parasites that are around now are just making it really tough.  No farmer could cope with 50% annual die out if they had cows, pigs, chickens, etc.

Domestic duties today. Youngest granddaughter has a swim meet in O-HI-O tonight. Doesn't appear yet it will be livestreamed. I haven't received my orders for tomorrow. Maybe I can sneak in that big military battle up in Foxborough.;) Sunday, church responsibilities then after services, annual carry-in Christmas dinner. Always good food and fellowship.

Celebrated my birthday yesterday by attending an art show of local, upcoming, aspiring artists. Grandson said "the best thing about it was the free cookies and hot cocoa." :PWe did learn from one of his teachers he volunteered to be the model for the Egyptian mummy on display.

Happy Birthday, Dave.  How’d I miss that?

I made some baby cradles for our church's toy drive this year.  We bought dolls and my wife made some afgans.  When they were delivered this week, the woman who organizes the event asked, "Are these by the same guy that made the doll beds last year?  They were so nice and these are wonderful."  I guess I need to make another batch next year.

Thanks Ron. After 71 of them, pretty much a routine day. Hopefully I'll have another one in about a year. If so, I'll convert to Celsius...only 22 then.;)

:ChinScratch: Being it's so nice out (55°) I went out and cut some more firewood for when it's not so nice out. :Tapping:

:Tapping: Problem with that is now I have to haul it closer to the house and stack it. <_<
