Friday October 6th 2023-Whats on Your Weekend Agenda?

After going to the Local Firemen's Breakfast, I delivered the 14 Beer cases to the brewer and received a nice payment in Local Brew.

I am now working on building more boxes of different sizes for a craft show on Veteran's Day Weekend.

"Will work for beer"

Craigslist had someone wanting to get rid of a stack of mixed hardwood boards including hickory, walnut, and maple, all for $3 a board ft.  I'd have driven down there and bought it all except I don't have a vehicle to haul it in or hook a trailer to.  So for the last couple of weeks I've been on the hunt for a used 2door dodge or ford or chevy pickup.  Found a ram 1500 2drx2wd with an 8ft bed locally at a good price, but the truck is too long to fit in my garage. So still looking for something with a 6' bed, 2 doors, 6cylinger engine, and low miles.  Need some good wood boards to feed my furniture designer creativity and get myself off my chair and away from this PC.

Some Lowes or Home Depot stores rent trucks on an hourly rate.  That might help you get the lumber home while you are waiting for the right PU to come along.  I'm currently in a Honda Ridgeline and it's the best truck I have ever owned.  Unibody design instead of frame on chassis offers superior load handling characteristics.

Thanks.   The only problem there is that the PU will have to share floor space with the wood.  I was planning on just leaving it in the bed of the truck backed up in my garage as I worked through it.  I've got a Ford Transit Connect van filling that spot which I would trade in for the PU.

Had a great time at the swap meet on Saturday.  There were over 100 vendors present and several hundred in attendance.   Lots of stuff there.  military radios from WWII, Korea, military aircraft radios, civilian tube type radios from the mid-1900s, along with modern equipment.  Picked up the items I needed for about 1/2 what the sell for online.

Antenna Analyzer looking at my antenna on the 10meter band

Automatic Antenna Tuner.   This device matches the impedance of the antenna so that more power is output to the antenna from the transmitter instead of being reflected back to the radio. 30amp power supply on the bottom.
