Friday September 22nd 2023-Whats on Your Weekend Agenda?

:ChinScratch: Friday again folks.

Here in the land of "Two Weeks from Anywhere" I'm still waiting for the delivery of a hollow end mill so I can get at a broken off bolt on the Pilot so I don't have to go through dropping the front subframe to try drilling it out. :Tapping:

Also still doing battle with that :ArguingSmileys:Astro van of Bruce's.

Has a strange fuel injector shut off problem going on that when the fuel injectors get cut off the gas gauge rotates counterclockwise. :WonderScratch:

It's not throwing any DTC codes but if you disconnect the battery for a half hour the system resets and it will start/run for about ten minutes before the gas gauge starts rotating and it will not restart due to the Vehicle Control Module shutting down the fuel injector system. Otherwise if you start/stop the motor without running it for the ten minutes you can get two to four starts before the VCM shuts down the injector system. @Gunny Any ideas?

Well, it looks like that's my weekend agenda.

What's yours?

Going back to the theater set shop.  I predict a lot of evening work the week before the move-in date in a couple of weeks.   We have six 8'x14' walls that need vinyl prints attached to both sides and a few that need rolling bases built.   We got the sewer grate done last week but we also need to do a whale's stomach for Nemo to climb out of.   Also need to build a frame for a 10'x20' aquarium scene.

Yeah, I'm going to get me a garage condo.   Starting price $269,000 (and wonder what the condo fees will be)?  https://local12.com/news/local/garage-condos-mason-pointe-project-cincinnati-suburb-personal-storage?-fbpost&fbclid=IwAR1i-aS5ctmaRnb_vH7zKbbieEt9stantlebT1hFbrdf4wMLk97589TZlJA

Of course, with the bougie name "Pointe" they will be luxury garages.

D2 recovery for me and the Mrs. from The COVID Cooties. Symptoms much milder than a year ago. Mostly body/ joints aching now. Coffee still smells and tastes good. I may wander out to the garage later? We'll see. Rest of the weekend TBD.

Last full day of summer 2023 kids. Enjoy it, but be home by dark.

I hopefully am going to get some shop time and try to make a wood football with the lathe.  Complete with white ends and laces.

Got outside this AM to make sure I could set up the canopy by myself for next weekend. Welllll more to it than i remembered so I utilized some tools and made the job easier to get done. The danged buttons on the legs are very difficult so I made a puncher with a brass screw in the end which I made a shallow dish in.

Spent most of my shop time today working on large shaker pegs for a kitchen towel holder. Well SHE did not like the first ones in cherry. Back to the shop This time used walnut. The SHE says too long , well maybe ok. And why a different wood.  Finally design accepted and back to make the backer board  and ran out of time. Game first tomorrow playing Bama. Then some shop time.

Spent a good part of the day making a new lid for a treasure chest.   The boss wanted it lighter and curved.  I spent some time figuring out how to make it just part of a circle. While I was cleaning up I noticed a trammel points (new) on the pegboard.   That would have made it much easier.  And the first prototype was 1" too narrow.  Then he decided it needed to be higher.  Then tried kerfing some 1/4" plywood to get it to bend.  The test piece worked great but the first try broke.  Eventually got some thin plastic and that worked, but wanted something else, so glued on some cork that was donated.  Finally all worked OK and the windsheild wiper mechanism, with a wheel, a lever, and a speed regulator made it open and close a little bit so the bubble machine inside would work as desired.  Other people did some painting, finished up the rolling bases and put vinyl drops on the 8'x14' tall walls.   Life is fun.

Darn Keith, all I needed to do was (help) build a time machine!  H.G. Wells type... ;)
