June 16, 20233 yr Popular Post Friday again folks, sure was a fast week. Well, at least it seems like it was here "Two Weeks From Anywhere". After the rain we had earlier in the week it's back to mowing, mowing, mowing. Mowed the North field next door yesterday afternoon, leaving an area grow due to Native Wildflowers coming up that I plan to relocate. Also left an area that I thought the Bunnies were done using for their dens, but found out they weren't done when I ran over one of the dens. It sure freaked me out when the mothers fur cap over the den started moving after I had ran over it. Thankfully no Bunnies were injured. Today I'll hopefully get back to chipping so I can get the branches and brush cleaned up and out of the way so I can do some mowing here. That's my plan, hopefully I can stick with it. What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
June 16, 20233 yr Popular Post Either today or tomorrow (or maybe Monday) I'll be doing what Buskirk refers to as "mowing, mowing, mowing". I haven't mowed in over 2 weeks cince we've been so dry, but the recent rains has the grass growing again.
June 16, 20233 yr Popular Post I hadn't mowed in over three weeks since we went 21 days without rain. Did it Wednesday and finished yesterday. It was the same height as a normal one week growth.
June 16, 20233 yr Popular Post Not much going on right now. Spent yesterday getting a club video up on YouTube. Pulled a few nails out of some fence boards and sanded thru a hollowform working on . We had a bad storm come thru day before yesterday and another this morning . No severe damage this area I know of but about 20 miles North had 70 mph straight line winds, so lots of trees down.

Last mow here was about a month ago, let it grow until we got some rain. (Added bonus to doing so Free Wildflowers, might dig up Monday) Neighbors accross the highway that cut every week now have very brown yards, while ours are still mostly green.
June 16, 20233 yr Popular Post Men's monthly breakfast out tomorrow morning; church responsibilities Sunday. Probably should plan to mow again. It's been about 3 weeks or so. We received a good blast of raindrops yesterday evening which lasted 30 seconds or so. Buckhorn is getting a bit ugly now. Developing a plan for a Sunday afternoon nap. May have to get in some practice for it prior. Happy Father's Day to all you dads and grand-dads. Hope you have a great weekend and Father's Day. Edited June 16, 20233 yr by Grandpadave52

Childrens do a GREAT job!
June 17, 20233 yr Popular Post This weekend....Started today. My father in law wanted a small cutting board 5x8" so did glue up tonight. He is a Big Tenn fan so I am going to inlay an orange Power T on the back for fathers day. Built a Bandsaw fence tonight. I am hoping this weekend to get to play a bit with CNC and laser. Got a pork belly to make some pork belly burnt ends (Pig Candy) Sunday, will be doing all the grilling for the family.
June 17, 20233 yr Popular Post We had a big rain event a couple days ago, came with some pretty high wind and some small marble size hail - and thunder, lots of thunder. So, errands to run this AM, pick up new glasses at Sam's this afternoon and then I need to mow the lawn also. In between the "need to do's" and "have to do's" I am trying to put a car deal together (out of state - again ) and all of the additional planning that requires. The next 2-3 weeks are super busy, the car buying gets done now or put off until mid-July. Do you need to guess which date the wife prefers?

My former house was about 1/2 mile from Bethesda North. I switched doctors recently and the new one was at that complex on June 8. Small world. June 18, 20233 yr Popular Post After 2.5 days of driving, this morning, we're in our last motel for a while. We'll be driving from here (Scott's Bluff, NE) to Phyl's family reunion site at Ft Robinson state park, about 75 mi. north, for 6 days of family fun. There's 85 of the family expected. Our immediate family plus Phyl's bro. and SIL, are responsible for one breakfast meal for the group. Others have meal duties for the remainder. This part of NE is rolling hills and GREEN. A nice change from our desert. Oh, and there's some sort of an old "arn" car rally going on in Scott's Bluff. There's a bunch of really sweet cars and trucks from several states running around town. Catch ya'll later.
June 18, 20233 yr Author Gas tank on the log splitter was leaking. After taking a closer look at it, it would appear something was chewing on it. Checked with Bruce to see if he maybe had one like it, no such luck. Bruce said it looked like a Racoons work. Online prices for that particular gas tank $80.00-136.00 String Trimmer/mower line is basically the same type of plastic as that gas tank, I wonder. Now where did I put that,... Ok found it. I filled it with water to check for leaks, wasn't sure if I could get it to seal or not but after the third try SUCCESS! (There were two small holes about 1/4" apart) Whatever it was chewed on the gas cap also. (It's still usable) $80-136.00 for a plastic gas tank?
