Friday June 9th 2023-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Friday again folks! ;)

:ChinScratch: Starting Friday at 48° here "Two Weeks From Anywhere", supposed to make it to 81°.

The tree trimming, thinning, removal of seasoned in place trees continues. <_<

Hopefully the bearings for the DR Chipper get here before the too small for firewood brush piles get much bigger. :BitingNails:

I've got three piles that will probably take at least two days to run through the chipper now. :Tapping:

It's almost getting to the point we can see the Forest through the Trees on the West side. ;)

:throbbinghead:

Did I mention I hate :ArguingSmileys: Buckthorn?

Now when did that Multiflora Rose show up here? :WonderScratch:

Looks like this is going to take longer than I thought, so it looks like I know what I'll be doing.

:ChinScratch: What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

I seem to be locked into a cycle of doing paperwork and/or errands in the mornings and trying to squeeze in some afternoon shop time.  Looks like this routine will carry on for the foreseeable future.  For the weekend I do have a goal of hanging the upper cabinets in the garage and getting the lawn mowed.  I have managed to get all the lower cabinet drawer fronts assembled, it will be a bonus if I can get them all sanded down and painted...

:ChinScratch: Just checked the tracking number, and it looks like the bearings might get here tomorrow from Middlebury IN..

Been so dry I won't have to cut grass.  Has been nice to sit outside and enjoy the scenery.  Supposed to be smokey from Canada's fires so I will probably stay inside and play in the shop.

Nothing wonderously exciting going on now or, planned for here. Replacing blade clamps on the scroll saw is on the agenda for this AM. Then finish cutting a nativity scene puzzle in 3/4 red oak. As slow as that oak cuts, it'll likely take the rest of the day.

Like Dan, we're so dry that mowing isn't necessary. But, that's normal for here. We rarely mow more than 5 times a year and, 3 of those are after the monsoons in July....hopefully.

No Mow June so far here also, well other than string mowing down the Poison Sumac/Ivy/Oak that is all through that roughly 30X60' west of the house forest that we're finally able to see a few trees through.  Wife starts itching just looking at any of that stuff, Can't believe how many twisted Buckthorn patches are in that area. <_<

Some of those Buckthorn's have 5-6" needles on them. :Punched:

Almost forgot the sky is blue, we've been getting the "Smoke" for probably the past month. Sure is bright out there without it.

Eyes aren't quite as itchy also.

have a NEW Washer coming Sunday, sometime....Lowes would NOT honor my MIL. Discount (10%) for an "On-line " purchase....Hmmm..:ArguingSmileys:

Would have cost almost as much for a new control bard for the old washer...:WonderScratch:

No Laundry Detail  until Sunday evening, I guess...:Tapping:

No beer in the fridge...means no mowing the yard, for me..sorry..:DevilLaughing:

Adjusting to having both grand-daughters at home again. Messes with an old hermits schedule:OldManSmiley:

Sitting at 10U baseball game right now waiting for the 4th inning stretch.

Still sorting through some auction treasures I picked up yesterday. Few honey-dos on the list for the weekend. Church responsibilities Sunday. Nothing else big planned. Hoping to get rained out Sunday afternoon and evening.

Got some jigsaw puzzles framed for daughter and granddaughter. Two biggest ones are for the dorm room in the fall.   Granddaughter's graduation party is tomorrow afternoon and went to pick up a bounce house today.  Ugh, it weighs about 400 lb.   Got it to the back yard and set up.  Will need to return to the rental place Monday.

Nice.  Did you put glass  to protect them?

Not this time.  They have "ModPodge" on them.  I decided not to put picture frame mat on them because that would cover up too much of the edges.  So there would be no gap between the ModPodge and the glass and thus it may stick together.   Plus I didn't have enough large glass left to do these puzzles.

I did a very large one earlier this year for another grandson and it had a mat and thin acrylic as glass would have made it way too heavy (and potentially dangerous for a bedroom).

The three in the back and the one on the left are Charley Harper prints.  I don't know how famous he is generally, but he's a well-known artist around here.

Looks like the new belt is taking the long way. went  from Iowa to South Dakota, from there it went to Indiana, and left there last evening headed for I don't know where.  It's still scheduled for delivery tomorrow. :WonderScratch:

:ChinScratch: Guess I'm getting my moneys worth out of the FREE USPS shipping.

was hoping for a great weekend but it got ugly, day of my b day, found the ole gal in front yard, on her keyster, couldn't walk, her right knee gave out, as shes grown a little hefty over the years and now at my age, i couldnt lift her, so since we got rid of the wheel chair, the scooter and walkers after her achilles tendon fix, had nothing but a office chair, managed to get it to her and up and on it. then into car to emergency.

anyhowz, they kept her thursday and friday nite, was glad as i would have had a hard time getting her to the facilities by myself as her knee was locked up.

so in the end, brought her home yesterday, they did some manipulation so she could move it, seems the mri showed a pc of cartledge in her joint, along with a miniscus (ie spelling) tear. so, no surgery as she didn't like the dr who consulted, called him some unsavory names due to his demeanor, so.............now in the market for a knee guy, and in the mean time, got a new wheel chair, walker so we'll see what goes in the next few weeks, problem is, now i gotta drive her everywhere, as her right knee was the good one lol

getting old taint for the weak.

happy sunday, just glad to still have a smile.

Rj in az

Sounds like a nasty situation. Glad she's got some mechanical devices to help you both.

Phyl had a knee replacement done by an excellent team. Unfortunately, they're in Flagstaff. But, if you need to go there, at least it's cooler.

Marie tore her meniscus some years back. In doing the surgical consult I said something stupid like "you'll just sew back together?". His reply was that it would be like trying to sew spaghetti, what he'll do is clean it up and reposition the fibers....then off to therapy. Of all her health problems it turned out to be the one that could be solved.

:throbbinghead:

I'm sure glad USPS doesn't supply road maps.

So sorry to hear Rj. My wife went through a similar incident a few years back. Hers locked too..she was at work. They had a wheelchair to get her to ER. Torn ICL. She's had both knees done. Still has problems mostly due to arthritis in the joints. Prayers for her.
