Shop work TBD....maybe. Been attempting to get familiar with scroll sawing. Yesterday, cut some really simple patterns that I drew directly on the wood. Probably continue that process today until I gain more confidence. The multi thickness piece completed yesterday will get hung on the wall of infamy to remind me of how unskilled I am presently.

Got a phone appt. with the VA today at 09:00. We're still trying to get my blood pressure meds matched to what's needed. In previous consultations I was advised to fiddle around with the dosages of their meds. There's a .25 mg pill and a .50 mg one. The .25 mg dose had little or no effect. The ,50 mg dose produced marginally better readings. Still way high. So I added the .25mg to the .50mg with not much effect. Yesterday, I doubled the .50 mg. That worked...somewhat. Still a bit high but, I have no idea what is normal for me. According to Google, it should be 120/80. My best...yesterday... was 149/84 after doubling the .50mg pills.

Hopefully, they'll have some better regimes to try.

Hey Gene….(I am a cardiac RN)…..1. Make sure you’re drinking enough water. 2. The bottom number (diastolic pressure) is the primary number you want to watch. You really do not want that to go above 90. 3. The time of day you take your bp meds can make them more or less effective. If you’re taking in the morning try taking at bedtime. Good luck sometimes it is trial game.  Hope this helps.

Hey Jim, next Thursday we'll be flying to GA to visit our Army girl stationed at Ft Stewart, from there the three of us ill drive to Aiken SC to visit a friend of ours and stay the long weekend there, and see the sites in Aiken and surrounding areas. My wife has been to Aiken and loved it, now it's my turn to see the area, we are considering SC a place to retire.

It is a nice area!

John, I’ve heard Aiken is a beautiful area. And right across the river from Augusta!  Enjoy!  We’re near the coast in Murrells Inlet, just south of Myrtle Beach.

Enjoy your visit.

Many thanks  Kev. The VA doc is increasing the BP med dosage. From 5mg to 10mg. And, he suggested evenings, too. 10 MG does cause a little lethargy.

Living out here in this arid climate has conditioned me to have a water jug available all day long. I probably drink a half gallon +/-per day.

Congratulations Gunny!!!!!! This is awesome!!!!!

I remember the day my wife did the same, I was not ready for the range of emotions I went through, seeing all those immigrants getting sworn in, it was the first and only ceremony I have been witness too, and all I can say, it hit this patriotic man like a brick, I teared up at the site of all those wonderful immigrants, doing it right, and with pride! Man where they proud to be here! Their smiles and demeanor, on our way out the door I stopped and hugged a few of them, and welcomed them to our country.

If anyone here has never seen one of these ceremonies, you should go, it's just as important as seeing the Declaration of Independence (of which I have not yet).

Again, congratulations Gunny and Mrs Gunny!!!!

Granddaughter's final recital with her piano teacher, well, except for her solo senior recital in a month with piano and voice.  And today she turns 18.

I did my bit by spreading about 1.5 acres of Dandelion seeds. :P

Had to make sure the wind was blowing in just the right direction. :DevilLaughing:

Congratulations to Lena. Well done. We're proud and honored to have her as a citizen. Sorry I didn't respond to your text earlier.

A busy, very long but exciting day. We were blessed to get to see our oldest grand-daughter graduate from college today with her BA/ Business (Marketing). Her mother (technically step-mother) graduated 22 years ago to the day from the same college.
