here is the pictures of the planer i promised. been raining for two days here. so got all wet to get pictures. that is how important you guys are! lol, I also do plan on seeing if i can find instructions online. but I was being MAN-Like and figured worry about instructions later. Mr. charlie did teach me safty before he gave it to me.

ALso I will take as much snow as you folks feel like sharing. agreed with or without hurricane, but you do know trading inclement weather would be only fair you know.

I depends on how thin you are going. Most planers get down to about 3/16”. If you need to go less there are ways to manage it without a thickness sander. One way I have used is to use double sided tape. Stick the wood piece to a 3/4” pierce of using the tape and then you can plane down to 1/8” pretty easily and carefully peel it off using a wide razor scraping tool.

you may very well be able to find a manual online...i found several referenced, so it depends on the number you have.

it also may depend on the wood, if there is some grain run-out, a thin piece is liable to shatter.  Some woods, like hard maple, also seem to be fairly cohesive.

Just yesterday, I took some walnut, maple, red oak and mesquite down to 1/8 using Paul's method. It had been rewsawn to 3/16.
