Kickback waiting to happen.  This one is not even from a Chinese company, it's a Canadian one (Though I don't know where it's manufactured)..  A battery powered table saw.

Maybe that padded vest will offer some protection

Assuming it's Kevlar and metal mesh:Punched:

Almost as disturbing the saw is not secured in any fashion.to the makeshift work surface.

I think Ryobi is also offering a battery powered tablesaw using their 18v platform.

It doesn't. You move the board back and forth to make the cut. Much safer than holding a board and moving a hand saw. Both hands are on the board.

As usual..half way through the cut, the battery died....

Maybe, to better show he was indeed using the push stick, they had to move out to where you could see it...otherwise, it needs to be on the OTHER side of the blade...

Interesting 2 part fence.

He may have that pushstick behind the piece that is between the blade and fence afterall, the more I look at it, it may be an optical illusion. I don't know.

But, all that aside, nice looking saw, the battery powered this and that are making a huge smash on the construction sites, battery technology has advanced so much that even the framers and carpenters building those huge tract home projects have switched out the ol corded worm drive saw for a battery powered worm drive saw. The big name these days on the sites is Milwaukee M18 series of tools, they are big and bad, and hold plenty of power and longevity, it's the tool of choice these days at construction sites, I see them all over the place in the trades on my bridge jobs, and my son who is now working in construction has them in his lineup of tools, it's all his boss has, and it's all the boys are using on the job sites, I never would have thought that anything could have replaced my beloved corded worm drive saw, but the battery powered M18 has!

I'd love to see the saw mentioned in this topic, Keith do you have a link to it?

Right … and he’s using it for a 1x12 …

The grey box on top of the blade guard … laser?

Ya well, he's a model Ed, not a woodworker 😄

Yes, sorry, I missed the questions to me.

I saw this on the Canadian Woodworking site.

While I agree with John that if you are a framer working on a house-in-progress or up on a roof, battery powered everything in a woodshop does not seem as important.  I'm usually standing within arm's length of an outlet. That said, we use battery drills and impact drivers in the theater shop where we are working many feet from an outlet, moving from piece to piece a lot, or working in the theater stage.

I think I'd go for this combo miter- and table-saw, oh wait, I don't need 500 of them.

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Miter-table-Saw-with-upper-table_1600117077059.html?spm=a2700.pc_countrysearch.main07.103.b4b1637e8wy4nv

so, it looks like this combo table saw, grinder, horizontal drill, rotary tool thingy

If you want some entertainment, just search "chinese table saw"
