Friday again folks! 

 

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I'm sure glad I got the Stepsons car done. 

He's driven it for a couple of days now putting about 110 miles per day on it with no reported problems. 

Today's the last day we'll make it above freezing for at least the next week with a forecast high of 33° for today.

There's even a couple of days forecast where we won't make it into the 20's. 

 

 Might have to make like a Bear and Hibernate for a few days.

Not sure at all... yesterday morning our brother in law (wife's sister's husband) passed away.  Totally unexpected.  We are all in shock.  Heart attack.  While he was not in good health, he still got around pretty well.

Nothing particular planned.  It's going to be in the 40s.  Might take the side by side for a ride to get its juices flowing.  Haven't really needed it this year so far.  No snow is a good thing.

I stupidly laid my phone on a hot plate that I thought was turned off. Luckily, it was in a protective cover. Melted that and got a bit of the back shell as well. Some time today, a trip to the repair guy is in order to have the back shell replaced. It still works fine, though.

Finally!!! got the Bosch Colt's new base plate configured for the inlay kit. What a persnickity and tedious job that was. The plate I ordered was advertised to fit that router. It didn't!  Had to drill and countersink 4 new screw holes. 

Before taking off for downtown Tucson to the phone repair place, I'll see how much I can get done on that inlay piece...hopefully without screwing it up.

A long time friend from the woodworking club was having a sale today to clean out his shop and home.  It was being administered by a company.  Supposed to start at 8, but they kept us waiting outside for an hour before they let anyone in.   A big bust, mostly junk, scraps of wood, cabinets full of misc hardware and overpriced.  All the good stuff had gone elsewhere.   Good for him, though.

Sun is shining. Gonna get the salt washed off of the Maverick.

After I looked out the window at the falling snow, I figured out what I'm going to do today,...NOTHING!!!

Time with Pops at the nursing facility throughout the weekend. He continues to hold his own. If God allows he will have his 96th birthday Sunday. Church commitment and responsibilities Sunday.

Tonight daughter/SIL are having us over for dinner.

Stepson just informed us that the two TPMS sensors in the boneyard wheels started working! 

so i'm flipping thru the current Rockler catalog, to see if there's anything i might want to add to my shop.  on page 3, i see this picture:

i don't see an email address to send them a heads up, but i'm thinking the photo staff is not really familiar with dust collection systems.

 

oh, if i can put together a big enough order, i'll include 2x3-1/2" pocket rule on page 8, item 68157.  it's only $9.99, but it's really cute.

I'm no rocket surgeon nor ever played one on YouTube, but might be an issue with dust collection flow at the "Y's"?? Reminds me of a round-a-bout

The once overly hot phone has been refurbished to like new. The tech had to take a picture of it first. Said he'd never seen one melted before. Took about 1.5 hours for the repair. It was almost 16:30 by the time I got home. The repair shop was in downtown Tucson. About 30 mi. away. Traffic was a bear! Consequently, nothing got done in the shop. Oh well, today is another day. 

BTW, I ordered a military grade case for the phone. Advertised as nearly indestructible.  Didn't mention hot plates though.

Hmmm…Need to finish building cart for my planer and oscillating sander. My new miter saw is 3x bigger than old one. Start working on wife’s coffee table. Filling holes and stabilizing a small crack. Weather tomorrow supposed to rain so going to smoke some salmon and chicken for the wife during the week while I am out of town. (Utica, NY). Grandson will be here today as well. Tomorrow Sunday see what I can to on coffee table and try to rest a little.
