The garden center where my wife worked wanted a fireplace for a Christmas display some years back. Some left-over lumber, left-over floor laminate, paint, stain, and VOILA! Still in use, year-round, to this day.

Most excellent John. Thanks for sharing.

Nice looking piece John, it's no wonder that they leave it up year 'round.

You know the routine, Cal.... Get up at 3, answer the call of nature, check on TPW, go back to bed, etc, etc!

Had to get up and move around some Cal. I was aching pretty bad. Odd, as tired as I feel, not really sleepy so just thought I'd check in TPW to see what's happening at that time of morning. Official report, doors locked, lights out and everyone snoozing. Pretty peaceful.:P

I'm on MST, Dave. Was up at 03:00. Started the coffee brewing, relieved the bladder, let the pup out for her morning constitutional, had my Bandit style breakfast of pills. Now, on the patio, drinkkng coffee, awaiting Sol's appearance and, reading TPW posts and, Installation instructions for new smoke detectors. Gotta drill some holes. Gawd, I hate dry wall anchors. Don't know why they don't use command strips.

Just a normal morning, out here.

I am a bit late this morning myself...

A good great day to set the tv up on the back deck and watch the UGA game.  BIL & SIL came over and we had a good time of it.

Later in the evening our daughter came in for a visit and the danged upstairs a/c wouldn't come on - it had been working fine when we switched it off a couple weeks ago for the fall. :(  BIL came back over and we fiddled with it until after 11 PM when we threw in the towel.

Any a/c techs on board?  No power to the thermostat.  There is power to the unit, we tracked it down to a blown 3 amp fuse after the transformer.  I had a 5 amp that we installed, thermostat lit up but as soon as I slid the switch to a/c it promptly blew that fuse.  This is a Rudd heat pump, likely about 10 years old.
