August 12, 20223 yr Popular Post The week went by so fast I almost forgot it's Friday. Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I'll be batching it for the weekend. The wife is going up north to "Three Weeks From Anywhere" to visit her sister. Not sure what I'll do, but the grass/weeds are looking ready for a trimming after the rains. Hopefully I'll survive my own cooking. So, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
August 12, 20223 yr Popular Post oh yeah, move two more tons of 1/2 inch minus gravel and i should complete my fill in of wash outs, did same yesterday, it was over cast and two ton went quick an hour and half spreading so, easy peasey, did wear my keyster out though, do some stuff in shop, found some 3/4 inch ply, so gonna begin frame work and cabt. build for chop saw, still organizing shop, have a couple tools up for sale, to make some room, as i have doubles of some. spent a couple hours trying to understand the cnc router stuff, oh boy, wondering what i got into, almost like learning a new job, we will see. happy friday, made it to another. rj in az
August 12, 20223 yr Popular Post I've a bunch of stuff to do... Yard work; mow, trim, edge, blow... Car work, Duster had stuck float valves in the carb - took it off and cleaned it yesterday. Need to put it back on and test drive for a bit... Still have that small home improvement project, need to coordinate with the Mrs. to do the upgrade... Started my 2022 home remodel project yesterday. This is (or was) to clean up 1/2 the garage with stripping the popcorn off the ceiling and doing a good & correct job of texture and paint as well as painting the walls in that half. At this point, I think I will be happy to get the ceiling done in 2022. Yesterday I got the scaffolding put together that I bought at auction a couple years ago for this job. Cleaned and lubed the castor wheels and actually started stripping the ceiling.
August 12, 20223 yr Popular Post funny how one always has to clean up or organize stuff to do stuff, lol, i have some winter work to be done in house, which is to take the ac chase drop out of hallway, as we had new duct work put in so we could take soffit out, at main entry of house, IMO has to be done when cool out, so november or so will try and get it done. i've been avoiding fixing transmission cable on one of the work trucks, have the column apart, but it requires laying under truck for a bit, and i'm not inclined to do so today, maybe tomorrow, maybe not, lol. for sure am not running outta projects. and yeah, i hate scraping texture off the ceiling, even with dampening it, its a nasty ugly deal, watch the dust, some of the older stuff has some asbestos in it. happy days Rj in az

August 12, 20223 yr Popular Post Still trying to get the MGB brakes to feel right. Must still be some air in the lines. Hope to put the homemade motive type bleeder on it again. Summer is slipping away! Our border collie has high blood pressure, which by itself is unusual in dogs, unlike us two leggers. It usually an indicator for some other issue, but three rounds of lab tests all come up normal. So far it's affected his peripheral vision, hopefully temporarily. Taking him to a specialist in Albany next week. Meanwhile, lots of ball playing to keep track of his eyesight.

August 12, 20223 yr Popular Post Project lists continue to grow. No rest for the wicked as the saying goes. Need to check rear brakes on truck; began sqeaking a few days ago; wear clip indicators perhaps?? Always something unexpected. Plenty of yard/outside work too. One smallish project; assembling anniversary gift for my wife. Grandsons spending part of the weekend here. Church responsibilities Sunday.
August 12, 20223 yr Popular Post friday: laundry day, water the gardens day, write this reply day, pack the car for tomorrow's pistol match, continue to figure out life without my dear wife.
August 12, 20223 yr Popular Post Working on a couple displays for the fall shows. Got to get some ground ready for sod but will have to hire as the knee just won't allow it. After the last two days I spent on that a week ago it hurt a couple so I conceded to the wifes request (orders) and will hire the rest of it done. Hey got a new phone yesterday so I can give y'all better pics.

August 12, 20223 yr Popular Post Mowed and dethatched the yard today. I can't seem to get ahead of it. I mowed Sunday PM and still had about 3" of growth to cut off today. Yard looks like a hay field.. Tomorrow is theater set building, then a birthday party for 1 y.o. great-nephew (the only one of that generation with the family surname, so far,, but may be the first and last). In between putting finish on a doll bunk bed for Xmas present.

August 13, 20223 yr Popular Post This is the first complete. Display for what I call Fire Stix. These are in progress and when finished will have a steel striker also attached. Have always just laid these on table as I had no idea for display and this many will be quite heavy. There is also a support in back.
