August 1, 20223 yr Popular Post Not sure IF it is a good omen that a Month begins on a Monday So...what is on YOUR schedule for the week? I have a rehab to do...
August 1, 20223 yr Popular Post Working on a table saw jig to cut 45 degree angles without changing the blade from 90 degrees. Use for small box work
August 2, 20223 yr Popular Post Boring Monday. Dealing with insurances, internet providers, dentist, pharmacy, washing and hanging out an accumulation of filthy shop rags and, mowing. These recent rains made the usually dormant and, brown grasses to come alive, green up and grow. Hopefully, tomorrow will see some productity in the shop.

That's a term I'm not familiar with.

August 2, 20223 yr Popular Post Work work and more work August is kicking off with a bang. Not sure if I will get any shop time or not this week.
August 2, 20223 yr Popular Post Spent the day at the state fair judging 4-H woodworking state level projects. Morning was disappointing both in quality and number of members actually coming. It got better, much better as the day progressed. The best we saw in our class was an end table of cherry with curly maple inlay. If that was not enough he had a glass top and inside was a carved and painted trout that looked fantastic. Also painted were a dozen rocks with a grainy paint that he had individually carved. I had a number of nice tables and a nice mission style bed.

August 2, 20223 yr Popular Post After some rain today, worked on string trimmers, then used string trimmers; more weeds to be whacked in the days ahead. Mowing on the agenda this week too. Mix of outside work as weather allows plus hoping for some non-mechanical project time. Pictures tomorrow evening at church for the new directory. Whatever fun you have in store for your week, keep cool, work safe, wear proper PPE as appropriate and remember to take donut breaks as needed.
August 2, 20223 yr Popular Post Today, haircut, crafting, maybe a swim at the ymca. Gluing the 18 slats sort of corkscrewed. Became 19+ slats in a peculiar helix design. I'm blessed in saving the scraps from cutting 10˚ bevels on the staves, as there were three seams which wanted solid filling. They worked, far better than a glue/sawdust putty would have.
