:ChinScratch: Friday again, and the year is halfway over.

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I'm still doing battle in the "Poison Pit" that is in the wooded area west of the house. Finding plenty of :ArguingSmileys: Ticks.

We'll be having a cookout for the 4th. Nothing fancy. (Can't afford steaks  looked :JawDrop:and walked away. )

Have a good 4th folks!

Oh yeah, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

My Bosch Miter Glider SCMS makes a ton of sawdust. Bosch's attempt at DC is woefully inadequate. Today, that situation will hopefully be  remedied.  A you Tuber has posted an effective solution that I'll attempt to implement. It involves cutting rubber shelf liner to a pattern that's specific to this saw. All the pieces have been cut. All that remains is assembling them with Gorilla tape, installing it and connecting it to a shop vac.

With any luck, the next cut's sawdust will be in the vac and, not all over every surface within 6' of the saw.

have a set of grandkids from germany here for a few weeks, so.............guess i'm in the entertainment biz for a week or so. they are already in the pool. lol

did finish a flattening table and sled, and used it for first time to flatening some small slabs. to try out.

been gonna build one for a year or so.

found that my mini splits in shop did pick up more dust than anticpated, so, even with the air scrubbers, not bad, just as noted a little more than i thought, goes to show me just how much dust is in the air.

gonna have to get serious and finish the dust collection system have a mobile unit, but alas, we know how that works, a quick sand and why hook it up, only gonna be a minute. any hows,

have a new entry level laser engraver, i really never embraced the tech world and now it shows, lol. glad i have a friend or two that knows their stuff.

lotsa B boards to prep for the gal to finish, and a few odds and ends.

Mostly been updating my blog with a record of my furniture designs which I've built over the last few decades.

Scraps

Savannah and Cheri

My photo setup has limited vertical space and several of my designs were shelving or model stands or just plain too tall.

I've also been updating my jigs and fixtures and fences with cam levers.

Cam Levers vs Twist Knobs

This morning was about paying some bills and moving money to cover the checks.  Always easier and nicer to talk to a live person at the bank than dealing with remembering log-in info at their web site.

Floor space has been cleared out....Son hauled the chest upstairs by himself, saying that it felt more like 50 pounds, empty....Then both of us moved it into it's new home..

The only place on the inside to get any sort of a finish..was the underside of the lid....:OldManSmiley:

Rest of the Weekend?   Resting up....I think I may have earned it?:cowboy:

Been off the grid since 10:15A...exactly one hour after the automated call saying same problem from yesterday was resolvedwhich was 6+ hours without. Internet + landlines just restored about 5 minutes ago.

Mowing needs resumed after early afternoon gulley washer/t-storm. Mrs. & I may go (used) car shopping tomorrow for her. 3/4 grandkids will be here later tomorrow; oldest is gone through Wednesday. Plenty of outdoor projects, maintenance etc. Ribs on the grill on the 4th, then our family $$$'s up in smoke event. 4 of next 6 days have random thunderstorms predicted; need the rain; on border of severe drought conditions.

Whatever all y'all have planned, be safe & enjoy the weekend.

Had two doctor appointments this morning, came out of that with one less prescription so a win. After lunch we worked on finishing covering water line and finished except a small section that needs more of the dirt there to be mounded over line . Tomorrow we set posts for faucets and will be done.

The saga of the new workbench continues this weekend.

Working on the upper and lower rails for the base and maybe if I get particularly motivated, I will get the pieces for the back section of the top rough cut.

A couple errands to run this morning.  After I get back I need to drag a new dehumidifier under the house to replace one that seems to have quit working.  One of those "don't fix it if it ain't broken" things I am guessing.  I had crawled under the house a few weeks back to change the batteries in the hygrometer and on the way back to the exit passed by the dehumidifier and thought I ought to clean the filter.  While doing that inspection I noticed the float was pretty much deteriorated so I ordered a new one.  A couple days later did the r&r of the float, cleaned the filter and bucket and put it all back together.  A few days ago I noticed the humidity level was about 65%, so I crawled back under there to check the setting - it was fine at 45% but the machine was just blowing cool air.  I set a collection bucket under the hose outside and over the course of the next couple days recorded zero water.  I did a "hard reset" (unplug for a few minutes and restart) to no avail.  So I have a new one to get set up this morning.

After that, mow the lawn.  Don't know what SWMBO's plans for 4th are, haven't heard.

Other weekend plans for me include gathering up various items that will be carried to O-HI-O in a couple weeks.  Gathered up a bunch of car parts the other day and sent the son pics so that I has an idea of what's coming and to be prepared :P

Granddaughter turns 15, today. Family gathering at her house. Phyl did a cross stitch of a jumping dolphin, for her. And, sewed up some trinket bags. Gpa didn't get his act together in time to make her anything. But, she has a limbert table coming. Maybe by Christmas.

Oldest grand son bought his first house (he's34). We're going to go visit today, he's plenty proud of the place so it should be a nice (short) trip.

whew, muggy here today in the high 90s and cloudy, took, me a couple hours to install 6 new batteries in the golf cart, i live on an acre plus and my shop is way out back, lol, the old gal does our yard work and when i bought it, '' why in the world did you buy a golf cart'' i added one of those HF two wheel carts, and now its '' put new batteries in the cart or i cant do the yard work'' so..................had to buy the batteries in stages at Sams club as they'd only get a few in at a time and when i got there they'd only have one or two, finally yesterday the holy grail.

did epoxy some of the cutting boards ,filled them with some acrylic or similar.

big ole pork butt on the green egg, rest of family due for the free meal later today, ugh.

You lucky devil. I managed to get 3ea. 36", approx. 8/4 rounds for table tops, on my last trip to see John. I would have liked to have seen that log. AZ Woodie had bigger ones, though.

Ran to the theater shop this morning and replaced some rotted deck boards on the main steps entrance.  Came home and put some stain on a picture frame.  Then got started on a modification job for a friend.  She has a cradle or bassinet that was made for her when she had her son.  Now a grandchild is on the way.  It has a boom for something over the top that she didn't like.  On one end was a bump-out for the boom that she wanted removed.  Darn, I should have gotten a "before" photo.  It had a big reinforcement underneath that I needed to remove.  Got out the circular saw and made a bunch of cuts, then chiseled it out.  Then had to make a fence to saw off the bump.  Held my breath and did that.  Got within about 1/16" before I hit some other parts so did that, then hand-planed off the rest.  Held breath again and routed a round-over top and bottom.  Did some sanding and running a trial on the finishes to see how well it matches.

Hot and steamy around here. Pool, farm markets, tomorrow an intense sweaty walk on a closed-off road in a park. Just now,

TALES FROM THE PITH ... Turned this piece into a few slats.
