May 9, 20224 yr Popular Post @John Morris , inquiring minds want to know what YOU have been up to lately. How's the family. What's new in your shop? You still batching it?
May 9, 20224 yr A busy weekend, but nothing "got done". Did a car show on Saturday at the VFW, probably the largest show they've had. A lot of great cars were there, many that I had not seen before. Daughter came in Sat. evening for mother's day. Sunday we did our delayed Easter dinner and a lot of visiting with family and friends. Today wife & I are headed to Athens to visit a longtime friend who's health is failing Her husband had passed away 2-3 years ago (and old college buddy) and she has not done very well since. Be home tomorrow evening and then dr. appts for wife on Wed. & Thurs. Maybe Friday I get to stay home... Right now it looks like the only thing that might be busier than April 2022 will be May 2022. No woodworking or shop time in sight.
May 9, 20224 yr Popular Post With the near perfect weather well have this week everything will be outside. Mowing today, weed spray later, garden, etc.
May 9, 20224 yr Popular Post Still fiddling around with the Limbert tables. Ordered the newly designed Kreg pocket hole jig. It got here last Friday. Might get it mounted, today. At some point, I've got to assemble a new laser. Maybe, after the tables are done. Anticipating our trip to IL to pick up that scroll saw. It's gonna fit right in with my future plans for smaller projects. MUCH smaller...and lighter, too.
May 9, 20224 yr Popular Post Nice stretch of weather coming up. Garden, grass planting/mowing and outside work will probably take up a lot of that time.
May 9, 20224 yr Popular Post Nice weather here too. Makes it hard to be indoors. Going with the flow.
May 9, 20224 yr Popular Post Busy weekend literally exhausted me. Friday: daughter's fiancée took me to see his inheritance. '36 IHC pick-up truck/ street rod conversion in the works; I'll post up some pictures. Secondary and real reason for trip was revealed; wedding planner will be involved; date TBD once my my daughter and wife are informed of the intent. Went to daughter's that night for rib-eyes off the grill. Sat: County Youth Soccer league finished with 3-2 win. Kids got free ice cream at concessions after; I opted for HOT coffee with 51° and 30mph+ NNE wind. Errands after, then grandsons stayed the night with us Sunday: Sunday school+church, then boys & I took grandma out for lunch at our favorite Mexican/Peruvian restaurant, then ice cream from favorite summertime only soft serve place that's been in business since the early 1950's. Coming attractions: Projects are legion with mowing marathon beginning today. Tonight starts a long summer of county youth baseball. Boys have games, alternating nights, Monday-Thursdays through mid June followed by play-offs. Fortunately, half are in our small town only 2 mile away.
May 9, 20224 yr Popular Post The wind has been persistent and strong the last few days so cleaning the pool has been a daily event. I am going to try to finish up the teak project today so I can keep moving forward with the pantry project. The solar guys are supposed to be here today to remove the panels so the new roof project can begin. It’s going to be a noisy week around here. Paul
May 9, 20224 yr Popular Post Finished up the monitor riser for the desk and got it set up. The finish blends well with the desktop and the design cues were taken from the beveled desktop for both the laptop stand and the riser. The splined bevel joints turned out pretty well and will be more than strong enough for the application. Pretty happy with the way it turned out.
May 9, 20224 yr Popular Post Picked up blocks to set up sons storage building 12x18. Upon measurements went back Saturday for more blocks. worked Saturday morning so that killed most of day. Mom did not want to go out Sunday so we got a to go plate at deli. today at Dr office for her eye. Got to search for wood for club hands on later

Been considering a second monitor, not sure I'm up to the task of reorganizing a desk that's way too cluttered!!!

Yep Greased the spindles and sharpened the blades on the zero turn this morning. Mowed 2.5 acres next door. 5 hours ago, Cal said: No woodworking or shop time in sight. Maybe in about 6 months when I get caught up. Do need to make a laptop/monitor stand that will fit the center console for the HDS/HIM diagnostic computer for the Pilot.
May 9, 20224 yr Popular Post Like several others commented, the weather is much too nice to be indoors, so I've been in the yard quite a bit. Getting rid of plants that overstayed their welcome, pulling weeds, and today... started (or rather, RE-started) adding a waterfall to the goldfish pond. After all, why put something off until next week, when you can put it off for ten years or so!
