March 14, 20224 yr Popular Post We had a pretty doggone cold weekend down here. Wind was just a screamin' on Saturday early AM and into the early evening. Lows were back in the 20's after a couple weeks of pretty mild temps made for an inside job weekend. I finished up our taxes and sent them off, got all the vinyl stencils cut for window sash #3 and pictures printed to boot. I did get some shop time in and managed to get drawer parts cut out for a headboard I started last week. And, early Sunday evening, went to a birthday party and early supper. For the week ahead it looks like today is run errand day. In no particular order for the rest of the week I am looking at finishing up those drawers, painting the headboard, painting the third window sash, sandblasting mirrors and glass panes, cleaning up the yard and woods from Saturday's wind storm - a lot of debris to clean up before I can mow the lawn. And too, continue getting the garage ready so that I can begin the paint prep, I think the end is in sight for the first half of the project.
March 14, 20224 yr Popular Post My favorite little SandCat belt sander quit on me. So, yesterday I tore it open and, it looks like it needs brushes. Found a pair but they're an hour away. I'll see if they'll send them. In the meantime, I'm putting together another file and rasp container for 12 pieces I just found in a plastic tool box that I need for more router bit storage. Sooner, or later, I'll get back to those Limbert tables. It seems like that every time I turn around there's something else needing attention. Focus, Gene. Focus!
March 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Froze at a wedding Saturday afternoon. Was to be a outside wedding. They moved to inside a barn. Not much better. Was 30F inside. Could see everyone's breath. Ceremony lasted 30-35 minutes. We did not stay for reception.
March 14, 20224 yr Popular Post "The History of Boring"- my life's story Got the last coat of poly on the manzanita turning and finished up a jig for making Celtic knots on small bowls and vessels a la Alan Stratton. Still need to test and fine tune it.
March 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Another cold and WINDY weekend. Helped the missus clean house Saturday. Church yesterday. Several small projects on the docket this week weather permitting. Truck coils should be here tomorrow. Got 8, Bosch with Lifetime Warranty for less $$'s from Rock-Auto than 4 from Advance plus only have to walk to mailbox to get them. Thursday, last laser treatment for Mr. Cat at vet. He's healed pretty well. Friday, heading across state to PU youngest grand-daughter. Her Spring break begins after classes (mid-terms) end. Wedding to attend on Saturday.
March 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Survived the snorkeling at the reef yesterday and managed to get more sun than I wanted. Beautiful on Kauai but bring lots of money. Tonight, a luau.

March 15, 20224 yr Popular Post Worked on handles for one item in my store Saturday and have to make handles for 3 more items sometime. Did some erands with son this AM to get water meter at his place. This afternoon we got his Saint Victor zeroed and finally my Mosin Nagant is spot on at 100 yards. I forgot the spotting scope and am now sore from all those trips down range. Tomorrow cardiologist appt to see if the ticker is still ticking or needs jumper cables.
