February 2, 20224 yr You definitely have more patience than I do . I would place chisel on wood and proceed to make a non pattern groove. In woodturning it is design opportunity but not so sure in instruments.
February 2, 20224 yr Author Popular Post It was (actually) working with instruments which gave me the idea (courage?) to replace this cracked cedar door lip. Bad picture [poor contrast in #2], but you get the idea. I had recently replaced a 2" piece of missing lip on a violin, and was ready for something bigger The patch was cedar from the same cabinet, as I crafted a double-wide wardrobe into a single-width cupboard, but was SOFTER. Lesson learnt. Both the de-lipped violin and the cabinet will be separate posts in the coming year.
