January 15, 20224 yr Popular Post Did I do this right? Had to wait for some threading taps to come in to finish it and FINALLY got it done. I don't do pine and don't have any poplar at the moment, so I used walnut. 30 'branches' and it stands 27" high. 120 goodies spaces. Wife person loves it and has already decided I want to make more for gifts. Sorry about the picture size. I'll try to figure out why it's so big. Edited January 15, 20224 yr by Headhunter
January 15, 20224 yr Popular Post I ain't @Artie nor play him on TV, but yeah, you did good...real GOOD! Thanks for sharing. Oh, and good on you for volunteering to make more for gifts.
January 15, 20224 yr Popular Post The walnut makes it look like chocolate bars. Edited January 15, 20224 yr by Gunny

Learned that the hard way long ago in a previous life. Perhaps you are confusing it with voluntold. Different concept, same outcome.
January 15, 20224 yr Popular Post Mighty fine work and wood selection looks edible. Made on a Shopsmith?
January 15, 20224 yr Popular Post @Headhunter That's a beautiful tree, you absolutely did it right. I think Artie would concur.

January 15, 20224 yr Popular Post Steps of chocolate, to Heaven! Looks awesome. My WW’ing skills are still in the beginner stage, so that’s one of the reasons I like these. I can make them well enough, people want them. It looks amazing! There’s also something that looks amazing in the left background?

January 15, 20224 yr Popular Post That really did come out nice. As for the voluntold ones you'll be doing.. no good deed goes unpunished.
January 15, 20224 yr Popular Post Reading the voluntold reference made me laugh. I only heard the word for the first time yesterday at work. The municipality I work for is giving out 3000 at home covid test kits today and one of the guys in the shop was selected to help. He referred to it as voluntolding.

January 15, 20224 yr Popular Post Tony, I know this is a woodworking forum, but I’d enjoy any photos/descriptions of that process. It sure looks to be in good shape.

January 15, 20224 yr Popular Post I also noticed the whitewall tire in the background on what looks like it may be a 1930's vintage vehicle.
