November 18, 20214 yr Popular Post comment_275551 I finally finished the buffet table. It’s about 50 inches long and 13 inches deep. I made it from walnut and butter nut. Finished with 4 coats of Armor Seal. I started this project around mid September and just finished it. This was a very hard build for me. I didn’t have any plans other than what I had in my mind and just went with it. Now, it’s on to re-arranging the shop a little bit. Report

November 18, 20214 yr Popular Post comment_275576 At least if you keep a working project on your mind it will let you come up with better solutions you don't have time to think about if you had built that thing in a weekend or two... I find I can see much better ways of doing things if I stop every once in a while and take pictures and post them and sit here and think of different approaches that maybe never had in my first thoughts of a project... That's a mighty fine piece of furniture that you will be proud of for many years...... Funny also if you will keep lots of wood on hand it will make your brain always think of ways to use some of that wood. At least it will put a stop to you thinking, boy if I had some wood I could build something but you never go completely with any of those thoughts...Its easer to be lazy and say, well I could have. November 18, 20214 yr Popular Post comment_275590 WOW! I love it Beautiful! Beautiful piece of high end furniture Paul. Great lines, symmetry, contrast of wood and design. Don't berate yourself on the time it took to complete because this piece will endure the test of time. Please tell me you signed and dated this piece with your maker's mark? If you haven't yet, then you're not quite done yet. You might also consider creating a Photo Gallery on TPW to share and preserve your efforts. Thanks for sharing for all of us to enjoy. Report
November 19, 20214 yr Popular Post comment_275624 Pauly, that is a great piece and as others have said, a fine work of craftsmanship. I find if I simply do a rough sketch and work it along as I go, it turns out as imagined and sometimes better. Great job. BTW, it would have taken me twice as long. Report
