Maple and Walnut Bowl

This is my 10th bowl since starting segmenting.  It's made of Maple and Walnut and was patterned after a bowl by Ray Allen from Dale L. Nish's book, "Wood Turning with Ray Allen.  I changed the design/feature ring to the checkerboard pattern.  Thanks for looking.

Thank You Cal, I appreciate your comment.  I've been segmenting 2 months, have had a lathe many years.

That's nice.  Some great joints on the segments too.

That beautiful bowl looks like a space ship from Mars.  That is really cool.  Thanks for showing.

Another great bowl. You keep going like this and you will be ready to write the book.

Very nice !

Paul

Very nice. I got into segmented turning to have something to do while roughed out bowls are drying. I am hooked on it now. I love segmented bowls.

I’m hooked too Rusty, I really enjoy it.  I’ve started making a couple at a time to offset the waiting for glue to set up.  I’ve also started using TB Quick and Thick.  Cuts the wait time in half.

Thanks, I will have to check that glue out.
