Then our son suggested we turn on the closed captioning. Made a huge difference in our understanding, and enjoyment, of the show

I can some are from Cleveland, Ohio.....because of their accent= 1/2 Italian, 1/2 Polish, 1/2 Irish/Scottish.....tends to stand out, next to my Kintuckee/Wets Vurginya/Irish...... Is it "Morning to you"..or..." Marnin to ye"?

There were a lot of Italians (alumni of Wazza Matta U?), eastern Europeans (Polish, Croatians, Hungarians), and British/Scot/Irish, with a bit of Pittsburgher thrown in. A lot of people worked in the steel mills or offshoots (General Fireproofing - made steel office furniture) or Packard Electric (made wiring and harnesses for autos).
July 31, 20214 yr Popular Post I grew up in East Tennessee and most of that is difficult to understand. But, when I heard some Brits talking, I was lost. They slaughter their own language. August 1, 20214 yr Popular Post The is a British show now on broadcast TV, I tried watching it and I'm fairly certain if I could understand what they were saying it would be funny. But another thing that struck me was the British sense of humor is a little different than we colonists have.
