Friday July 2nd 2021-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

We made it to another Friday folks!

Took another trip to "Three Weeks From Anywhere" yesterday with my friend that's putting up a new place to finish up getting basic electricity installed.

The meter box/main panel installation was inspected, and approved so now we wait on the electric company to come do their part.

Today back at "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I'll be doing the first of three drain, and refills on the Pilots transmission. It's past due and in Honda's infinite wisdom made it impossible to change the transmission filter without removing the transmission. I'll be changing the fluid out for Valvoline Max-life full synthetic transmission fluid. At the same time I'll be adding the factory tow package power steering, and transmission coolers that I got at a boneyard. I'll also be adding a pair of Filtran magnetic filters to the power steering, and transmission fluid circuits. ;)

We'll be going back north next Tuesday to take a couple pieces of French Provincial bedroom furniture to the SIL's place that she wanted from the MIL's estate, and returning sometime Wednesday I think. :WonderScratch: So I doubt I'll get the three changes done before the trip. The guys on the Piloteer forum recommend driving at least 100 miles between drain and refills. I might take enough tools/fluids to do the second drain/refill when we get there. It's about 215 miles to their place taking our normal route, but with all of the road construction  will be modifying our route to avoid most of it.<_<

And if I still have any time left after doing that I'll be back to mowing, mowing, mowing...

:ChinScratch: ... So, ... What's on your weekend agenda?

Progress is slow but steady on plumbing project for back building.

Well, we've broken down about 15 pallets and salvaged enough slats to cover possibly 1/2 of the bare studded 40' wall.

I was ecstatic that we were able to  garner several solid oak pallets. Not so ecstatic now! Most have those spiral shanked nails and, even the smooth ones are impossible to pound apart. Had to resort to cutting the nails with a sawsall. A slow and laborious process. I can break down the soft wood ones in about 15 minutes. The oak ones have taken as much as 1/2 hour. Got about 20 more pallets to go. Of which maybe 10 are oak.

Today will be collecting several pieces of pallet trash, an old couch, and various other pieces of trash for a Monday run to the land fill. Then, tomorrow it's back to pallets. Should have them all done in a couple days. Then we'll cut them to length. All of the slats are at least 48" long. But, most will need trimmed of the end splits. Lotta work and time but, it's cheaper wall covering than 1/2" plywood! Plus, it'll be kinda cool looking.... I hope.

Long weekend for the Fourth of July celebration.  My work is closed on Monday.  The parts to water cool my GPU arrived late Thursday.  Plan to get those installed at some point.

I also need to further process the "Urban Logging" project rounds that I harvested last week.

@Gunny I apologize in advance for having clean floors in the shop.  I'll get more sawdust made soon.

Patiently waiting for a reimagining on the old PC to finish. Then reapply all of the latest updates. Time to upgrade the old box. Windows 11 requires a bios that supports “safe boot” and my mobo doesn’t

Customer states funny noise when driving like a door creaking. And pulls hard left.

Yeah I wonder why?? Subframe is cracked and engine mount driven into transmission.

First of three drain/refills done on transmission. Shifts a bit snappier than before.

While I was down under there figured may as well change out the transfer case gear lube.

Drained and refilled the transfer case with Valvoline synthetic 75w90 gear lube.

Will be taking the necessary items to complete 2nd transmission drain/refill with when we get north.

Will be ready for the 3rd transmission drain/refill when we return home.

Working around yet another family visit.   But I got the shelf supports on the piano yesterday and with the little bit of time I had this morning cut some strips to line the back panel joint.  I'll need to cook them in my shaker box boiler to get them to bend to the curves.

Still scratching my head to figure options out how to attach the legs.  Have a few ideas but I want it to be strong.

Got the GPU Cooler installed.  Required quite a bit of moving stuff around and hiding cables but what an improvement.

4K benchmark results.  Big improvement here.

We had a very heavy thunderstorm this morning. The combined rainfall was 2.5 inches from last night and today. It cleared up this afternoon and I got to get out to start cutting the wood from the tree I had removed earlier this week. The first pile may get turned into platters. The huge pile is firewood. 6E77D36C-AE4F-4736-8E61-BD11A4CE8053.jpeg.228b11184134cc8c03490a5099b847e9.jpeg

Nice mod! Just ordered some upgrades for the old PC.  Not a gamer so nothing this nice was necessary.

I told you that upgrades to the shuttle are not in the budget, and we still need approval from NASA to land on the moon.  They got touchy after @John Morris did that fly by the Chinese Rover.

This will be our first Independence Day in our new digs. Doubtful we'll see much in the way of fireworks. Too many mountains in the way. Don't know how all our neighbors celebrate. With the number of youngsters around here, we'll likely hear some fire crackers. We'll hunker down in the house and comfort our neurotic dog. :( One thing is certain, traveling is out of the question! There are some crazy drivers out there...and, thats when they're sober.:o
