I've been assembling a rig to machine chase threads  in wood on my engine lathe.

But I gotta say after watching this I wonder if I should stop

They babble insanely in some incomprehensible alien language (I  guess their mommies didn't teach them english)

But you don't really  need any words

Oh  the oil  they use I suspect is Linseed oil

 

The Wyoming  wood turner, Sam Angelo has some good videos on hand chasing threads. Something to consider though, most American hardwoods aren't suitable for hand chasing threads. I'm pretty sure Sam uses box wood for most of his projects.
