April 21, 20215 yr Author This was a "kit" that someone else got rid of. The top is hard maple, the legs cherry. The apron came as a bent lamination of I don't know what, maybe birch. That was sort of one of the other challenges -- make three species of wood look good together. I tapered the legs using a technique written by a friend of mine. The top needed some help as it was stained and chipped. I ended up cutting it in half, running thru the planer, then gluing back together. I was going to post the technique for the tapering, but now I see the publisher wants $1.99 for a copy of the article!
