Friday December 11th 2020-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Featured Replies

Friday again folks, and only two weeks left until Christmas.

Which means only three weeks until 2020 is done, gone, kaput..outta here.

Not sure what I'll be doing this weekend, depending upon which way the weather tracks I'll either be trying to work on my machine bench or shoveling SNOW.

So...What's on your weekend agenda?

Thanks for the date reminder, Larry. I still have two gifts to finish up!

Used to remember when Friday actually meant...something.   Now?   Just another day.    Seemed to have misplaced Thursday, this week....or, just plain missed it...

May go and add coat #2 to the tool tote/box......

Unfortunately, I won't get a darned thing done in the shop this weekend. Wednesday afternoon, I went to our health center to see about stomach cramps and BLACK stool. I ended up in the hospital. CT scan revealed a perforated colon and, a couple abcesses. I'll be stuck in here until Sunday, at least. They're giving me two types of antibiotics twice per day. Each takes an hour to administer with the IV.  IV because I Can't have ANYTHING by mouth. Not even water. So, it's an IV for a saline solution and, that's hooked up in the other arm constantly, 24 hrs per day. They Docs want at least 48 hours of non use of the colon and antibiotics.

While typing the above, my GP showed up and gave me the news that it's almost certain that semi solid food is coming tomorrow and, depending on my reactions, I'm outta here sometime Sunday!!!

Working on another scrollsaw bowl for a Christmas present. Also working on another bowling ball bowl.

Hope you get better soon and get outta that place.   Last time i had black stools it was a bleeding ulcer.   That same trip to the horsepistol was when my appendix burst.    Hurt like...:JawDrop:

Well, my weekend project is going to be helping granddaughter complete this past weeks assignments.  In the shop, none.  It is going to rain.  Well, Sunday afternoon if the rain clears, I will bore for 9 pens.

Gene, man that is really sad news and scary, but it is good to see that you are making rapid improvement.  Praying that you completely heal and that you do get to go home on Sunday.  Take your time going to the shop.  No rush.

Probably to much greens. I hear lettuce is hard to digest.:D

The meal before all this started was chips and salsa, and Pico de Gallo, followed by a nicely spiced beef chimichunga with refried beans. There was a modicum of lettuce on the plate. I may have, inadvertently, ingested some. ;)

Actually, the doc says these things take years to develop.

Geez, Ron! Got wood? (from a very jealous guy)

Sorry been quiet last couple days. Had a court case with my ex. Between that stress and sitting for hours during the trial my back is killing me. Couldn't take my pain medicine this week due to trial. Once that was done not enough to time left to take medicine before back to work.  Tonight I can finally get my dose and sleep it off tomorrow.

We were supposed to get UPS package yesterday "by 10:00 pm"   Did multiple checks as late as 9:30 and still not there.  Arrived sometime between then and 11:00.  Not a good time to be a delivery person (unless you like the time and a half.)

The whole time I was in school, my dad was a delivery guy for REA Express (nee Railway Express).   I think he was told if he didn't get his route done by "quitting time" to just drive back to the depot and do it the next day.   OF course, they didn't have online tracking.  All the slips were hand written and his rule was, "If you can't read the writing, just write it the same way on your forms."
