Paul you aught to get one of these machines if you are wanting to make your wife smile. This machine even lets me think I am a woodworker after I work over a few pieces of plain ole wood.1956520113_legacymill.jpg.c17d62fc645d9e2866efd874bc54fe00.jpg1765443113_builditandtheywillbuyit.jpg.12dc698c46f1362c06182819e068f626.jpg

I have seen one in action at a shop in Salinas Ca. They are very impressive machines. I don’t think Legacy makes them any more so one would have to find a used one.

I believe you are right Paul. It seems like they could see more green backs by adding the three letters cnc in front of the names of their machines. I bought mine at a wood show in 98. It was the first wood show I attended after we retired and I told maw this one machine can do more things to wood than any other machine I have ever seen. Its a learning experience that's for sure!

There use to be another like my 1200 another woodworker might still have here in my town....He told me running a going woodworking shop and trying to learn this machine ain't getting me anywhere. His hired hands were keeping him too busy keeping up with them and the little things they keep screwing up on.

It looks like the Shopsmith is to the rescue. They make a set of beading knives for the moulder head which means I can take a flat board of any length and shape it however wide with the beads, slice it off as thin as necessary on the band saw and then laminate it to a cylinder I can turn on the lathe. I may need to steam it to get the walnut to bend but that’s doable also.
