All I wanted was the spindle and adjusting wheel, but he sold me the entire assembly for what just the spindle would cost on Ebay. However, that red-painted version is the original, with new parts. The new TS casting won't slide down the tube base; just a slight negative fit. Probably just needs aggressive cleaning of the surfaces, but the original has...panache! Some of the prices on eBay! are ridiculous, some not so bad. The Covid thing has caused some to raise their prices. I just got (I think) a great deal for a Delta G3-D chuck. I had put it in my watched items list, and the seller sent me an offer price that was roughly 1/3 of list price at other locations. In the "Old Tool" world panache is referred to as patina. Some of my old machines are rebuilt with parts from several machines. Now I need to tear down the motor I'll be using for my horizontal drill press/vertical lathe project. The bearings sound pretty rough.

December 6, 20205 yr Popular Post Well, we got two Penske trucks filled to the brim (literally), my pickup, three SUVs packed with stuff and two of he SUVs had to go back to get the little bit left over. Man, was there a lot of stuff -- costumes, paint, sets, walls, furniture, 15 totes of hats of all sorts. A long day and I was bushed. When we got back the door wouldn't go up much so one of the women had to climb under and hand out a few pieces. Next is sorting through it all. And picture frame ready to go. Should be a good match for the furniture in the target room. SIL is a baseball fan and this is artwork of the Cinci Reds stadium with the names of every player ever making up the art.
