Started another set of Christmas gifts again I think I have enough for every body to get two bowls this time around.  Two Each I think 3 families and the parents.  I should be good to go with this one.  But Purple Heart is a rough wood to work with.  But I managed to sand out pretty much all of the tool marks on this one.

Well this is turning to be some what unfortunate.  I've got it hollowed out and sanded and first coat of stain on the bowl.  I do have some 1 to 1 ratio resin finish on order from amazon should be here sometime next week.  How ever I'm not sure if that will help hold the cracks together but I'm hoping so.  Because this one is turning out to be a really nice piece and I definately don't want it to go to waste.  This will also be a first time using a resin finish on the bowls.  I did not order a huge order of resin just enough to do finishes.

I'd use StarBond thin clear CA. With small cracks like that, it will fill and hold the pieces. You may need a couple of applications as some will soak into the wood before filling the crack. Aslo, pressing some sanding dust into the crack before adding the CA will help lessen the appearance of the crack.

I'll give that a try.
