November 21, 20205 yr Popular Post buying tools for someone else, who knows tools, is as fraught with danger as buying underwear for a strange woman (or even your wife). here, use this/put this on, i have no idea if it will fit, but they are all the same, aren't they? commence smacking....

All I said was I would have liked to be consulted on the matter BEFORE they haul off one of my favorite pieces of machinery. They showed me the replacement lathe finally. New lathe looks nice but it’s not my SS 👿 Maybe a stealth retrieval is in order.
November 22, 20205 yr Popular Post Clean up on aisle 1. I have 2 more to go before I am finished. This is the mess left behind. This is going around some shrubbery. I need to taper the ends before sanding. The next picture is of a couple that I did on Friday. Paul, I feel your pain about missing one of your Shopsmiths. If my family did that, I may be in jail. Ron, did you make any of the Cheeseboards for your store? I ask because the fellow that recommended that hardware to me said he sold 27 over the last 60 days or so.
November 22, 20205 yr Fred, I built seven of them and sold all seven at a show in October. They’re easy to make since I made a jig to cut the angled slot for the wire but I need more wire and life has gotten in the way.

Got a link to the Etsy store (I promise I won't go in competition with you)?
November 23, 20205 yr For an Etsy store, do you need a license to sell? Do you have to report your income and pay income taxes and Social Security? Just trying to figure out how it works. Thanks.

Just trying to figure out how it works. Thanks. No license and as for the income, you don’t have to report it but I do because of my shop volume. It makes my accountant happy. It takes awhile for your store to get established and you don’t make a killing but it’s a nice supplement. I’ve done extremely well in 2020. Etsy charges you 2.8% for each sale. The only major ripoff is if you sell something off one of their ads. If a buyer clicks on your product from their ad and buys it, you get hit with 25%. It’s happened to me once on a $110 flag case. I have since opted out of their ads.
