Here's a simple review of both Resolve and VSDC (both of which have far more features than I will ever use) -

Thanks for the heads up on the G2 site! I often use AlternativeTwo, G2 seems more complete.

I have to agree with the reviews about the VSDC ease of use. It definitely has a learning curve. I started with it and just didn't want to take the time to try and learn a new software package.

Resolve took me a bit to learn since I had used CyberLink for years prior to trying Resolve.  However, once Resolve clicked for me, it became far easier to use and far better in the long run.  It's sort of like Fusion (formerly called Fusion 360); once I learned a few of the beginner steps Fusion became far easier to use and like Resolve, I'll never realize its full potential.

After a couple of years of back issues, followed by my computer failing (motherboard issues) a couple of months ago, followed by back surgery a few weeks ago, I'm eager to get back into some video work but I'm afraid I'll have to learn how to use these great software packages all over again.  Hopefully, this time the learning curve will be short.  I can't do any woodworking yet this soon after the surgery but I can start playing around with the software.

Great to have you back (no pun intended) @difalknerDavid. Thankful to hear you're making progress with your recovery. Prayers all continues to go well and you can get back in the shop soon. Miss seeing the progress updates on your guitar as well as other projects. Take care.

Thank you so much, Dave!  I miss the updates, as well.  🙂  I have a guitar with the sides joined and the top cut and braced but can't stay in the shop long enough to get the top glued on.  Sometime in the future, I guess. Frustrating!!
