July 15, 20206 yr Probably my lack of experience and/or intellectual acuity but, I find that different blades of the same size and tooth configuration have different fence setting requirements. For that reason, a fence that locks to the table is not optimal for me. Shopsmith must've recognized that, at least with their bandsaw, or they would offer such a fence. Mine's the old iron table. Maybe they do offer one for the newer aluminum table. Dunno.
July 15, 20206 yr "Maybe they do offer one for the new aluminum table. Dunno." Yes, Gene, they do. They had a sale recently, but I don't think it will work on our old iron table. https://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/catalog/bandsawfence.htm
July 15, 20206 yr Hey @Artie, do you have that fence on your bandsaw table? If so, how does it work for resawing?
July 15, 20206 yr Bought one, haven’t set it up yet. I think Doug Reid has a video on YouTube showing how to set it up.
July 16, 20206 yr That's how I do it. But, I use a wood fence screwed to the miter gauge. Redneck engineering, but it works.
July 16, 20206 yr Gene, this country has developed so many improvisations that is how we got ahead. So, you are a true red blooded American. I never could get one to work, so I simply make a mark with a Sharpie, then put down a piece of masking tape and try to follow it. After that, I true it with the table saw. Then I sand down with sanding disk.
