May 24, 20205 yr Sadly, the closest source for hardwood is around 130 mi. from me in Flagstaff. Good selection but, mostly S4S and expensive. Phoenix is even farther. So, I keep a list and get what I need when we visit our boys in Tucson. My mesquite guy is just up the road a piece from Tucson.

So I'm left with the only hardwood dealer within a 40 mile radius, they cater to the cabinet shops yet they do have a very extensive line of hardwood. Buy at the mill and get for a fraction of the finish price. Then you get to have all that fun cutting out bad spots and planingn and squaring. Most I have paid for cherry in the last 15 years is 2.45

Yes, in one suit they got awarded. Another one the judge basically said they were idiots and threw the case out. Most places now have a sign that says 2x4 (actual size 1.5" x 3.5") https://www.jsonline.com/story/money/business/retail/2017/10/06/lumber-lawsuit-against-menards-dismissed-judge-says-retailer-didnt-lie-its-4-x-4-s/739282001/
May 25, 20205 yr Reminds me of the McD's lawsuit where someone went through drive thru and didn't have the sense to know coffee was HOT. Spilled some and then didn't have the sense to GET OUT of the car and instead just sat their. As a result coffee is at a much lower temp to this day and as such gets cooler quicker. Same idiots are the reason they have warnings on charcoal grills to only use lighter fluid. Some idiot used gasoline, and they still do it regardless of warning. Neighbor down the street did, set himself on fire and got crispy. I'd have some sympathy but upon hearing the story about using a gallon of gas to get the fire going quicker I just can't.

Who knew that culling the gene pool would have such legal consequences?
