But the payback is after this and knowing where to go. Of coarse there is that learning "now where did I put that thing?".

...That wouldn't do me a lot of good, I'm forever losing things when they're right in front of me. <_<

I guess I would have to say I'm glad I'm not alone. ;)

Another two drawers done.  These hold my jigsaws.  One I use for metal projects the other for wood.  Observing one of  @steven newman PIP I saw a picture of him cutting out plugs.  That I knew how to do, BUT seeing the block of wood left over gave me this storage idea for my jigsaw blades.  This was my solution.  Might not work if you have a shorter drawer but if possible this worked out well.  Stained the wood blades one a dark walnut, the metal blades some grey stain I seem to have acquired.  Not crazy about the grey but it looks different and that was desired result.  Slowly but surely I am working down to the last few drawers in this project.  Started painting drawer fronts last night, be a few days before that is done.

Paint !! Oh no He is going to paint  .      One color or Psychedelic?

By the way on the bits If you use a three side frame with the fourth side being the bit holder , those could be folded flat so short drawer works.

Think Lego block wall a 3 year old makes.    Have about 2/3 of the fronts done now.  Be a few more days before I am done.

Progress thus far.

Sanding disc and pad drawer inserts done, and coated with poly.  Very nice to have the grits broken down into easy to reach sections. Sanding drawer fronts are painted brown, a memory thing I am experimenting with.

Next I had the reciprocating saw to deal with.  I have two, one stays out in a holder I made next to the bench ready to use.  Keep a metal cutting short blade in it, seems to be what I need most often.  Having two lengths of blades I made two types of holders.  On here runs at an angle to the side, that holds long blades.  The other I have two, one for short wood blades (yellow) the other for metal blades (grey).  Made a dowel and cut it down to 3/4 inch lengths and glued to a piece of OSB.  Then glued the PVC using hot glue to keep it together.  Drop tested it dozen or so times no failures, passed that test.

Still have couple of drawer fronts in paint room, be ready couple of days.  But this is just about done and I can clear the bench and put everything else back where it goes.  Then add some tape and label them as well.

Light blue = plumbing tools and supplies,

Brown = sanding supplies,

Walnut stained drawer is handplanes,

Yellow is for some type of accessory kinda all encompasing,

Dark Blue = jig saw, recip saw, and a Ryobi cordless saw.

Two drawers missing will be white, those hold caulk, silicone, and roof repair tubes.

Alot of work, but once done just like all the other cabinets it will be labeled and that makes things much easier to find.

Took me a bit to get the last few details all done.  Next up is to clear the bench, remove it and give it a paint job.  Had this bench since I was 12 and had my Lego collection on it in the basement.

One of the cats has supervised final assembly and approved.  Then went to bed on the dropcloths I needed to put away.  Figures.

Warning! Warning! Thread hijack!!

Was looking at the pictures and my half brain cell fired with a memory of an apprentice before entering the military.  Have you heard from him?  Can you update us on him?  Thanks.  Sorry for the hijack.

Kyle my son is at home, Academy closed for the duration.  Bryant is staying with his Uncle in New York and of course is locked down.  Jason finished OCS and is an officer aboard a ship at sea.  All are well and surviving I hear from them daily on messenger, mostly jokes back and forth.  Not much news to tell other than the stupidity of this lockdown.

Thanks for asking about them.
