Well, this is my first rolling pin of any kind.  When I do something for the first time, I jump in and try the most difficult thing.  This was “supposed to be a Celtic knot rolling pin.  It looks more like a drunken knot...ha ha....I thought turning the taper would be difficult, but it wasn’t to bad.  I know there must be a way of doing it....anyhow here is a photo of it. It’s Curley maple with walnut inlays...

Used to do these on pens. Took some practice and a jig to get consistent results.

Nice Pauley.  I haven't ever tried a Celtic knot but have been meaning to for quite a number of years.

Now in our household the # 1 use for a rolling pin is husband training, by the wife. This looks like it would be very adept at filling that role LOL. Good job.

When I gave it to my wife, I asked her to promise to never use it as a weapon towards me...she just smiled...I think I’m in trouble...thanks Artie..

Much better than I can do.  I will not try to make those decorations.  That is a beautiful attitude calibrator or nut cracker.
