Thks Lew.... I went to harbor freight to check there belts. All right o  24" folded flat. 

 

I may attempt to make new rods a bit smaller to accept the smaller HF belts. I just dont  have a use for that part of the sander unless it's to abuse some woodwork so I prefer the cheaper belts... the disc is perfect for small applications...

    After kicking many ideals around I grabbed a wrench cut it close enough for adjustment and it worked....

     

    OH!!! I was so happy I almost filled my pants....
