I saw that bench demonstrated , I think it was on American Woodshop (Scott Phillips. The guy who built it (not Scott) said it weighed 700#, IIRC.

Impressive bench, weight keeps it stable and where you put it.  Then you have the ability to move it, built in.  They were quite creative with that idea.  Raising and lowering the top, even better for those taller jobs.  If you had the space and wanted it I am thinking why not?  I am more with @John Morris though, really not something I can use in my shop.  Mostly the size and loss of storage space underneath.  

 

Now once I move out @Gene Howe's way, ya know 20 acres I probably have enough room for this 10,000 sq ft shop I keep dreaming about.

Well I have two monkey wrenches in my plan, 1st is an ex-wife, 2nd is I have yet to find a wealthy relative to fund my operation.

My experience with "adjustable" is that I adjust it once, then I'm too lazy to ever bother again.  But the concept did spawn a thought:  if I ever need an elevated surface, my main table is a pocket slab door that I've never bothered screwing into the frame:  I could just build a spacer frame to elevate the top.  Tuck that one away in the "I'm sure I won't forget.....what?" file.
